You are obviously insane. MGS should at least be in the top 10m and definitely above the crap that is Zelda, which I found boring so in my view doesn't deserve to be in the list. {:)

Yep, I think it was probably one of the first RPGs I ever played, then I got into Shining Force, and from there with the aid of a PSX I moved onto Final Fantasy and with the aid of a PC I moved onto Diablo, and never looked back :)

Rings of Power is the game I have the most fond memories of from my Megadrive games, probably because it was the first game that made me do 'redeye' gaming sessions round the clock trying to complete it. (Especially when I found out you could make money easily by buying one commodity, flying to another town on your Dragon, selling it and buying another commodity, and flying that back to the first town to sell for another profit and so on).

And everytime I pop into my local gaming shop for local gamers, there it is, sitting on the shelf, priced at £3. I'm really tempted to get it again, but then there's so much more out there these days to be getting on with. (Like FFX...)

Very Impresive. Except Speedball 2100 sucked and I couldn't care less about it. And yes, Rings Of Power was on the megadrive, ever play it?

'Top' Lists like this are a lie. I'm not insulting the original poster or anything but the the list is pretty wrong. How can you compare Advance Wars with FFX? The Same With OOT with GT:A-Spec. You can't. Not only are these games of a different genre they are completely different in terms of graphics, sound and gameplay. You can't say Tekken 3 is better then MGS because there's nothing to compare them on. One's a Beat'em up the others an Action-adventure. I'm sorry for pointing this quite obvious fact out but I thought it's rather pointless to say any game is better then another. It already occured previously on this very topic - one person likes a particular game and the other doesn't (with OOT). It's down to personal preference.

And if this WAS a top 40 list, then where's Speedball 2/Syndicate Wars/Populous/Rings Of Power?

I can't believe the amount of people who think Zelda:Ocarina of Time is the best game ever! Sure it's a worthy RPG (especially on the N64) and a decent game at that, but come on it's graphics are dated, the gameplay slugish, sound effects bizarre and there's way WAY too much running around!!

No where near Final Fantasy standard :)

Silly.

Yes they are crap by todays standards but they were groundbreaking and they were damn popular at the time. My point is that if the chart is truly an all time top 40 greatest games then the old classics should be there. They were the best of their time.

It's the same with all time to 100 music charts. You always end up with the latest s club 7 rubbish in the top 10 because it's popular at the time and it's what's highest up in peoples memories.

Good God, that list is wrong! (mostly) Metal Gear Solid on the GBC was crap, I really hope the PS versions are nothing like it other wise Sony fans must have something seriously wrong with them!

Also, there is no way in hell that Tetris or Space Invaders should be in the top 40! They are terrible games, people only hail them as brilliant because they were pretty much the first, and there wasn't much of an alternative. Just because they were around near the start and people spent a load of money on them in arcades, it doesn't make them the best!

Besides, the SNES and the Megadrive easily have all of the forty best games in the world :)
