England out out, and deserved to go out...

Especially since they were playing against ten men...

Did Marcos even make a save in the 2nd half?!

Bloody joke of a performance from England.

23 minutes - Goal - England - Owen
43 minutes - Goal - Brazil - Rivaldo
49 minutes - Goal - Brazil - Ronaldhino

This game is too much for me to handle! It's bad enough watching England play but watching them at silly o'clock in the morning without being able to steady my nerves with booze will be the end of me! I reckon Brazil will win it now, unless England can pull back a goal quickly. I also reckon that whoever wins will win the World Cup. This is a damn tough game to call. England are looking better than they have done for ages. But Ronaldo and Rivaldo are on fire with 10 goals between them now.

But Ronaldo can't handle pressure, remember France 98? He fell apart! Apparently Ronaldo had a seisure before that match which is why he looked pants. I can't imagine it happening this time round. This is the first time that Brazil have been tested by a decent side. Do what my friends are doing, listen to it in the car! So when Owen/Scholes/Beckham score you can honk the horn like a maniac! Also, have you heard of all the similarities with the 1966 World Cup, really spooky! This is the year of the 4 lions!

I'm kind of hoping that Brazil are going to find getting past the English defence pretty difficult. A couple of them may have nine goals between them, but our guys at the back have only let 1 in between them! he match could go either way, I just hate all the nerves. I just hope the English team aren't just playing for national pride, but for the chance of us to get a public holiday on the Cup final day if England are in it! Just will the ball in the net every chance you get, I'm starting to sound like Uri Geller! Its been a tense morning. If anyone needs booze to steady your nerves I don't think anyone will look down on you.

I just hope it doesn't go to penalties. I don't think my heart could take that...I really can't see it going to penalties though, but if it did it would be the most intensely worrying few minutes ever. One of my mates has £20 on Brazil so he won't be particulalry peeved if we lose. And if we win then WE WIN! He's also got £5 on Rivaldo scoring first goal and a 1-1 result in 40 mins, so I guess he wins that one then :)

Another of my mates think its going to be 4-2 to England. He's put half the winnings (about £250) he got from the Rio first goal on the result.

Has anyone else realised that Ronaldo has scored the same amount of goals as the whole England team? it should be a good game though! (just probably not a high scoring one!) Have you seen the teams Brazil have played and the defences they have played against, and the attacks they have played against? They have not come up any defence as strong as ours or any attack as good as ours. We will create enough chances against there defence to score four, but not in the time left.

Heskey has missed more than he has hit, and it doesn't matter how good our attack is on paper, because it has yet to statistically perform! However, it may all change against Brazil, but lets not count out Rivaldo and Ronaldo and not to forget Ronaldinho who has been called the Pele of the future...if only he hadn't just been sent off! (Yay!) On paper the sides are even, statistically Brazil have been better this World Cup. Turkey .vs. Brazil was a classic game, and the only game to come close was Korea .vs. Italy!

This is damn tense. Come on England...

I hope that isn't a foreign make of alcohol :)

All England have had to do so far in the world cup is sit back and defend...LEts see how England attack when they gotta defend against the best attack in the world.

Remember the last time a South American team equalised against England on the stroke of half time? :)

What fine worked goal it was in France 98, and this Rivaldo goal was similar in some ways...Really must have deflated the English spirit for sure!

I wasn't expecting a goal so early on. That was pure stupidity on the part of Brazil's goalkeeper, who went far too forward, so Owen could've easily scored, in a number of ways, lofting it over the goalie, for one. I thought Owen or Rivaldo would've scored perhaps half an hour later, but Owen got it in early, perhaps to their advantage, but it gave Brazil plenty of time to catch up, and they did, when Rivaldo knocked a superb goal in. Where the hell was England's defense!? That was terrible on the part of England, especially as they had defended so well up to that point. Is it me or are both teams being really clumsy today. Seaman and Beckham both got hurt in the first half. I was impressed with Ferdinand's performance out there, especially the set up for Owen's goal at the 23 minute mark. I still hate Danny Mills', his only impressive performance being against Denmark, in my opinion. And as for Heskey, I'd say that he hasn't really got invovled in this match much. Has been Owen pretty much all the way. I can see England getting frustrated, and as Brazil have just taken a massive morale boost, England making many mistakes, possibly losing them the match. So, here's the events so far:

23 minutes - Goal - England - Owen
43 minutes - Goal - Brazil - Rivaldo

It'll be interesting to see how it goes for the rest of the match, certainly. And with that, I leave you with Ian Wright and the crew...

¸.·´¯`·.Rivaldo! Rivaldo! Rivaldo!¸.·´¯`·.

Finally, England get punished for sitting back and defending.

The England defense has been breached, aint been done for a long time now! Maybe the nerves may come in now, as they know they aint invincible!
