The Gamecube console itself is £130 but I paid about £40 for the games . I worked out that we are paying about a third of the console on one game compared with a fith with the price if the console with the x-box and playstation 2.Im not being picky but perhaps there should be a small price drop in the games!!!

Right, it just seems weird that Nintendo can make all the money back on what is, relatively, a cheap product.

It helped non the less, thanks :)

Pikmin is as short as Luigi's Mansion.

Talking of which, I picked up Luigi's Mansion second hand for £25 (there was a shelf FULL of second hand copies - people must've been finishing it and selling it on). It might be short, but having played through it, I feel that I more or less got my moneys worth.

I am struggling with this comment.
The console costs more to make than it is sold for. It is like making CD cases which cost you 90p to make, but selling them for 50p, so you are losing money (40p), but if you made music CDs which cost you 70p to make, but which you sold for £1.50, you would make enough profit to be able to keep operating (40p). Imagine that the CD case was a Gamecube console, and the CD was a memory card or game, and it all makes sense. The money that nintendo spends on the consoles is made back on the games, as with all teh other consoles, so no one can afford to sell games for cheap.

Sorry for tha terrible ananlogy

the only reason why the console is soo cheap is because they are competing with the other consoles. They make this loss back be charging extra for the software. if not all the companies e.g. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo will go BANKRAUPT!! so you got to put up with this price till way later on or find a cheaper place

It would be nice to see a more prominent 'Platinum' style range of games though...........

Well, thanks for the complement. I'll try to keep it up. ;-)

I don't recognise your name, so I bet that I've been irregularly posting my madness here for longer than you've been calling me "weird".

Actually, I probably am pretty weird. So what? I don't want to be a sheep.

See Ya ;-)

P.s. Are you DA Big Cheese?
