The best performances were, by far, those of Toby McGuire (Peter Parker / Spider-Man) and William Dafoe (Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin), but Dafoe's performances of the split-personality thing were particularly brilliant.
My favourite parts of the film were the aerial battles between Spidey and the Green Goblin:
1) above the carnival thing.
2) on the bridge.
3) at the end of the film.
There's just too much to be said about this movie... and none of it would even come close to recommending Spider-Man even half as much as it deserves. Do yourself a favour and go see it. Oh, and on your way home from the cinema, make sure you buy "Music From and Inspired By: Spider-Man" because it's equally brilliant.
The only thing better than seeing the film was when my girlfriend announced that she wanted to see it, meaning that I get to go and see it again. Ellen, you spoil me. :)
She had a lovely pair of...arms!

Whoops, my mistake. Knowing Mark, he'll never shut up about that if he reads it....lol
Oh and to the person who gave away a bit of the ending, thank you!
Tut tut, and after all you said about definately going to see it on the day it's released in the cinemas.....
I knew you'd say stuff like that about the film mind, seeing as you're the UK's biggest Spider-man fan. So you're less likely to see the faults in the movie, don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting it's a good movie. The trailer looks brilliant anyway!
I went to see one of those advance screenings last Saturday with a couple of mates. The way he developed into Spiderman was impressive, but basically the rest turned into a giant Power Rangers: the movie, rip-off. And the love scenes were cheese upon cheese.
Good performance by whats his face though.
