The best performances were, by far, those of Toby McGuire (Peter Parker / Spider-Man) and William Dafoe (Norman Osborn / The Green Goblin), but Dafoe's performances of the split-personality thing were particularly brilliant.
My favourite parts of the film were the aerial battles between Spidey and the Green Goblin:
1) above the carnival thing.
2) on the bridge.
3) at the end of the film.
There's just too much to be said about this movie... and none of it would even come close to recommending Spider-Man even half as much as it deserves. Do yourself a favour and go see it. Oh, and on your way home from the cinema, make sure you buy "Music From and Inspired By: Spider-Man" because it's equally brilliant.
The only thing better than seeing the film was when my girlfriend announced that she wanted to see it, meaning that I get to go and see it again. Ellen, you spoil me. :)
Okay, a bit to many 's and "s in that sentence.
And finally, the villans always die, always! So it leaves me confused that people would think otherwise. Other than that I fail to see how i've spoiled it for you guys.

And on her...arms she had erect...hands!
