I'm not having a go or anything here, each to their own and all that. I'm really asking this out of my own curiosity:
Why do some of you only like one sort of music, or a very limited range? Don't you get bored of listening to the same stuff over and over?
I'm going to pick on RBS here (sorry mate! :-D), but in the "What music are listening to at this very moment thread", you seem to only ever list Counting Crows stuff. Don't you ever get fed up of listening to the same tracks over and over? Don't you ever want to listen to anything new? Or do you try new stuff, but you just don't like it?
I listen to different stuff depending on what mood I'm in, depending what time of day it is. Fox example, if I've just got back from the pub, I'll probably listen to something relaing, but if I'm getting ready to go out to a club, I'll put on something to get me in the mood for that.

Finally, someone who agrees with me! I really can't comprehend how drivel that any old Joe could do can make idiots millions, and suck in billions of morons who actually appreciate the music that anyone could make. I like music because I love the way it sounds, and because it's original.
I listen to all forms of Rock and Metal - that's it. Why? Because I hate all the other cack out there. I don't say this out of ignorance, however, as I have listened to just about every type of music you can think of, and none of them can get me pumped up like Metal and Rock can.
Pop is a bunch of cretins with a good image, which makes their bucks. Most of them can't sing worth a damn, and their voices are enhanced by computer magic. Hardly any of them play their own instruments, and it is normally either performed by a background band, who deserve more recognition than the supposed pop 'band' itself, or they have synthesisers to do their work for them, much like many RnB, Hip-Hop, Rap etc. I thought that the word 'band' constituted that the members actually played an INSTRUMENT. If not, then I am terribly mistaken.
Rap and Hip-Hop can be Ok, although I hate it when they use synth tunes for their music. I suppose that unless they do, it can be classified as Rap Metal or something like that. Eminem is an example of someone I like, as he takes a tune, and fits words to it geniusely. Ok, so they're not the best lyrics in the world (you could find far better from Thom Yorke etc), but they're as catchy as hell.
> Not good :)
Are you saying that because you don't *want* to like it, or because you genuinely don't like it?
It may take a few listens for you to get into, as I suspect it's quite different from your usual listening material.
Also, the tracks be quite long, and change through the track, so don't just listen to the first 30 seconds and then give up. Persevere my friend, you will get there.
:-D

Not good :)
dance is ok
pop = crapp
classic=*runsaway at the sound of the word*
I just do not like Garage or RMB. I find it way to dull.
Of course...I STILL think that, but my perception has changed slightly ;)
