Don't get me wrong i relise and athlon xp will outperforme a P4 both at same speed but as the xp's arent as high clockers as the P4's obviously a P4 2.51ghz is going to outperforme on most things than an Athlon xp2000 maybe at a maximum of 2000mhz (if you are lucky, and the cpu's multiplier is unlocked) before the P4 i had an athlon xp1800 chip which i unlocked myself and got it clocking at 1750mhz even with a load of fans (12 at one point) and later water cooling it would'nt go any higher the chip was from a good batch aswell, i don't really want to get into a "MY PC is better than YOUR PC" match as i am only wondering what differant pc's do benchmark at.

Faster doesn't just mean a higher clock speed, I'd assume that you'd know that from your name..I wouldn't really be surprised if an overclocked xp2000 could outperform a NW 2.5 at some tasks, it makes more use of each cpu cycle.

Anyway, I wouldn't say no to either of those cpus. Oh, and Rob, just pushed deceit past 7500, heh, just had to beat Rar..

I don't understand why you think you can get your Xp2000 to run faster than my 2.51 P4 there is no way you can clock it that high even with Liquid nitrogen.

My chip can go faster than your northwood, I just haven't got any failsafes in yet so I don't want to try it. Plus, at the time, it didn't have case fans.

I Know what your system is now turbo nutter and the only thing you beat me on is graphics, my system spec is

P4 1.8 northwood overclockeed to 2.51 (at the moment).
512 PC2100 DDR ram crucial.
Geforce 2 GTS overclocked Ram and core.
Sound blaster 5.1 sound card
80GB maxtor D740X ata 133 Hard drive
Epox 4BDA2+ ata 133 raid motherboard
Pioneer 16x DVD rom
Acer 24/10/40 CD-RW

Er, Rob, considering Deceit does 7143 for me on 3dm2k1, I'd worry if Rar only got 2000...from memory, it was about 7500, without anything overclocked..

I know on 3DM2001 this box gets about 350, and Rar does... about 2000? I can't remember. I'll have to ask Phil.

833, pathetic. I'm let down seriously by this Voodoo 3, me thinks it's time for an upgrade. Anyone else get a red flag for having ActiveX controls turned on, yet to run the test you needed ActiveX??? Stupid thing..

It also advised me to buy a new HDD, only got 3gb left on this 40gb..
