On the Pipex Demo, it lists a 56k modem being able to download a file at '56Kbps' but my ADSL connection shows a readin of downloading a file at '52.6KB/S'.
Is there a difference??? I thought there was, but I'm not sure which means what. Could someone explain to me please?
There, bet this reply was worth loading up ;o).
I know 2kbps, was horrible. With my college course all those big files on that connection it was so...... BORING.
> Why they don't use MPH, I don't know, lol.
lol. im downloading Linux Mandrake 8.2 atm - on a 56.6k modem....
im getting download speeds of about 4.6kbps, and pings on the UK server of as low as 170ms - this is damned good for my connection....
the problem is though that im using Download Accelerator so i can resume it, but the download stops about once every 30 mins, so if i leave it on overnight, it only does about 2%.... :(
