I see the new 251 slot memory cards(uncompressed) are due out soon that help not fill the blasted things up so quick especially when you think pikmin will use 19 of the 59 slot type

Do you know if it's totally safe to order from play.com, it looks alright but the little lock never appeared at the bottom of the page. I think I'll order it from there if it's 100% safe. Cheers again.

Cheers, I don't see the point in paying £15 for an official memory card when you can get one with 16 times more save space for just a little bit extra money.

Some agmes on the GC take up to 40+ slots to save, Both ISS2 and Fifa World Cup 2002 take 4 slots minimum and up to 49 blocks max for a single save. That's only if you change the options and teams though. But if you like to do that the official memory card is way too small.
Where can you get the Datel 16MM for under £20?

yes but do we need memory cards that big? As I said, you can fit saves for 8 different games on one 59 slot card. I think that's good enough for the time being. The only time you might need more is when Pikmin comes out.

Exactly. The PSone memory card was only 1 Megabit, but some 3rd party manufacturers made memory cards claiming they were one megabyte which led to several law suits. The GC memory card is only, in actual fact 512Kilobytes big, which means the PS2 memory card is 16 times as big.

Come on Nintendo, don't be stingy, give use a decent memory card (ie. the SD memory card)

At last, a bigger official card! Yay! Now I can get rid of my unofficial 256 (or something) bit card. I only ever use official stuff..

I cant believe Cube-europe reported this news today (again). Nintendo announced this ages ago...

Anyway, you can already get a 1000+ slot from Datel for under £20

and there's no chance of your saves getting lost, like my saves did on my N64 SPOOK card, quite often.

The standard memory card is a good size. On average, you can get saves for 8 different games on one card, though I've managed 11. And considering I only got 17 N64 games in the console's entire life, I'm quite happy with that :D
