I got a letter through the post from Game this morning sinse I have a reward card with them, and inside was a rather revealing letter. Basically all EB store in the UK are going to be remodelled to trade solely under the game brand, after all EB is owned by game.
Looks like the end of EB then, but will it be the end of incompotent staff who don't know anything about games? probably not, they'll still have all the same staff and same shop layout, the only thing thats changing it seems is the name.

I've also got an EB and Game in my shopping cnetre. Game's in the new bit though, so I don't bother to go there unless I'm going to Virgin. Doesn't bother me, I buy off Play.com anyway.
I've got and EB and Game in my shopping centre, I wont care if EB closes down though the staff are about as helpful as central heating in the dessert.

Same in my shopping centre (stevenage) only a couple minutes away from each other...
Digitiser said they were changing earlier this year and most EB stores have now changed to GAME.
Hmm...That's interesting.
I wonder what will happen at my local shopping centre. They have a GAME and EB within about 3 minutes walk of each other. Surely they won't bother having two GAME stores so close to each other. The EB will probably just shut down.

All of the stores. Both GAME and EB. I think.. thats what was in the Financial Times.
