"EB no more!"

I got a letter through the post from Game this morning sinse I have a reward card with them, and inside was a rather revealing letter. Basically all EB store in the UK are going to be remodelled to trade solely under the game brand, after all EB is owned by game.

Looks like the end of EB then, but will it be the end of incompotent staff who don't know anything about games? probably not, they'll still have all the same staff and same shop layout, the only thing thats changing it seems is the name.

Duh! Really? I did mention it in my origanal post, and it has been mentioned quite a bit downt the page. But just because EB are run bt GAME, doesn't mean their exactly the same.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but both EB and GAME are run by the same company!!!

I've always prefered GAME to EB. Both of them have shops in my local town, and I have always found Game to be the better store, probably because the EB store is tiny and hard to move around when full. Mainly though because I've found game to be the best when it comes to getting good deals and cheap games.

Recently however Game has become a bit crap. They never seem to have the games in I want and the good deals they used to have have become less. I still find it the best game shop in the high street though, but I only buy games from it when I go down town for something else. I useually stick with SR now.

I've got an SR near me so i buy most my games from there apart from NHL 2002 and i got that from EB because for about 2 weeks you didn't have it in stock.

Yes, this information has been available for a long time in the business world its just that EB have only decided to tell thier customers now.

Yeah, this info was sort of released, ohhh, give or take 3 months ago.

I thought it was widespread!

How did I find out again?

Yup. That's definately the best high street store (there's no special reserve near me, so don't bother). I buy most of my games from there.

Not closing down, just being renamed.

And seeing as there isn't a Gamestation of even a Special Reserve in Wales, I have to say that Electronics Boutique are the best (in Cardiff anyway). The staff in Cardiff's Game store are miserable sods!
