OK, as mentioned in the WLT, here is my quick 20 question general quiz!

Once you finish the quiz, send us an email with your answers to [email protected] and I'll update this post as soon as I can :)

No googling of course :P

OK, well, good luck and enjoy!

1) In the English language, name the longest word that contains no vowels?

2) In literature, name the author of the novel "War of the Worlds"?

3) In maths, what is 30 divided by a third?

4) In football, if you were watching "the old firm game" who would be playing?

5) In music, who sang the song "Owner Of A Lonely Heart"?

6) In politics, who was the previous Chancellor of the Exchequer?

7) In geography, what is the average circumference of the Earth?

8) In astronomy, what is the name of the furthest planet in our Solar System?

9) In chemistry, what is the name of the lightest element in the Universe?

10) In film, what car does James Bond drive in "Tomorrow Never Dies"?

11) (Perhaps a naughty one) What was the name of the company that went into liquidation, and that Freeola kindly gave shelter to some of it's die hard forum members?

12) In History, what year did Joseph Stalin die?

13) In what religion is Ganesh worshiped?

14) In maths, what is 2+2*2?

15) In art, what artist painted "Bridge over a Pool of Water Lilies"?

16) In geography, what is Earth's second highest mountain?

17) In the film "The Godfather" what was the full name of Al Pacino's character?

18) In science, what is the coldest temperature possible?

19) In geography, what is the 3rd biggest lake?

20) In astronomy, what is the name of the nearest star to Earth?

Congrats, you reached the end! :)

Oh, and one last thing, would you mind if you didn't post any answers up here until we get a decent leaderboard going :P To enforce this rule, I'll let power corrupt and edit all your posts ^^

Cheers guys.

Thanks for the response and like you I so want to tell you what we put - but we'll both have to wait until the answers are posted.

Rest assured - we're both top dogs!!

Too right... are you a pub quiz regular? Try to go to few myself at my local!

Usually end second in the quiz there as well! (but the 2nd prize is 6 bottles of beer, compared to half the quiz entry takings (that is usually less than the price of the 6 bottles of beer!)

Following that, usually in my team, I'm the only beer drinker - so I get the spoils without having to share it!

Don't do so many now as I used too. Myself, son's godfather and son do one major one in our village each year - and win! Upsets everyone, but who cares.

Used to do a lot when I lived in Leeds - especially one Irish pub. The prize list was as follows:

1st bottle Jamesons
2nd 6 bottles lager
3rd 2 bottles Jamesons

We never won, we always came 3rd!!

I'm hopeless, always come second at everything (remeber that everyone as it may be a future question on a quiz I may do one day!

Came first in fishing contest and won a few hundred pounts, two trophies and bottleof whiskey (unfortunately I was 12 at the time and had to give it to my dad). But second in every other contest I've won.

True, but I think you'll jinx this now and someone will get 17 or 18 right, dropping me to third!

Hopefully you can win it!

haha, sent mine, being a physics/astronomy/geography student some were nicer than others, even if some of the q's are a little ambiguous
