All the little Sega fans who trapse over here to attack the PS2, are over there trying to convince themselves that the PS2 is rubbish. They are listing all the games (past & future) that are going to challenge the PS2. Aw........bless them.
But seriously, they are just as dedicated to their machine as we are to the PS2, so i for one am going to cut them a little slack from now on.
I am interested in knowing a bit more about the Dreamcast, (never having played one) and whether it is as good as the PS2. Has anyone here owned/played one?
Though i do respect your opinion, you seem to be missing the point a bit. Ok, the games for the PS2 probably won't be the best this year, but this is the dawn of a new gaming era, and i for one want to be there at the begining to witness it. The Dreamcast i am sure is a great machine, but by the begining of the year it will be showing it's age. In the past, consoles could stick around for years and still be good sellers. But now, it's a different kettle of fish altogether. What's new today, could well be old hat by tomorrow.
when i had borowwed the dreamcast it was on the second month of launch an games get better as the console has been out longer. the games have probably got better. but TTT is gonna b the king of beat 'em' up's on any console
No. Certainly not. And anyone who thinks the games coming out are better than all the Dreamcast has at the moment are crazy, to put it simply.
It will, probably, have a very good line up of games one day, end of next year, perhaps, but not yet.
This is why I am confused at people making so much fuss over it already...
Please respect my opinion.
So what can Sony's rivals come up with next, ah right, accessories. It is no good because it is only a 2 player. Right, on it's own it is a 2 player, but buy 2 multi-taps and it becomes anything up to an 8 player. Next i hear you say, it's too expensive. Granted £300 is a lot of money, but just look at what you get, the features of the console speak for themselves. And of course another "BAD POINT" of the machine is it's design. Now this argument is one that cannot be answered by anyone, as it comes down to personal choice. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so you either like it or you don't.
The point of all this is, the PS2 is definetely going to be the best console available when it is released in this country, but each console that is subsequently released WILL be better in one way or another. Sony know this, and already have upgrades in the pipe-line to make the PS2 a better machine. Who knows, by the time that the X-Box arrives, we could be looking at the PS2 MkII.
i think it is a great machine, however i still dont think the public and the the 3rd party publishers have forgiven sega for the saturn yet. Also the lack of any REAL online gaming is still a sore point. However i love ferrari 355
resident evil etc. But with ps2 so close i wouldnt recommend buying one just now.
The quality of games is suprisingly high, it's a shame no one really knows that much about it.
