This is me, a serious X-Box fanboy and it is not a stupid consoles war post I just want everyone who is either into the X-BOX or gaming in general to read this, I know it is long but please read it, you will finally see why we are here for a long time!
The X-Box can not be compared to the GC becuase the X-Box wins hands down. Instead of bringing out say 1 good game a month and the rest are a waste of time the X-Box is bringing out 3-4 amazing games a month and between now and christmas this will increase. I can't believe that the X-Box has only been out just over 5 weeks in the UK because the games we have seen and played so far win GOTY before the end of year has arrived. Many complain about ports, nut just look at how the PS2 mashes ports up, take Max Payne for example, the X-Box version is the best version of the game yet and it is not a biased opinioin as most people share this opinioin and on the net reviews rate the game higher or equal than the PC version and the only reasons why it was faulted was becuase it was too short (nothing to do with the port) and no level editor (port problem). Then take the PS2 version:
No quick save
Load times are shocking
Graphics are very poor
sounds are dumbed down
DOLBY 5.1 is not apparent
Frame rate is terrible
There we go 1-0 to the X-box!
Then lets take SSX Tricky, the PS2 version was good, the GameCube version was appauling LOL! and once more the X-Box version wins once more due to popular opinioins and amazing graphical enhancements (mainly in the lighting department) to the other 2 version. The GameCube version thined all the characters down to make them look stupid, the graphics had been dumbed down for some strange and unknown reason (well it is known can't handle em) and it was rated the poorest out of the lot.
Before you jump the gun forget the, " Nintendo wanted to create a console ideal for games and nothing else ", becuase it is utter rubbish! The GameCube contains neither DVD playback nor a Hard Drive which means no internet play and no option to download extra levels or characters and game Demos. Lets all face it even the PS2 could do this (no offence to PS2 owners it is my 2nd favourite console and I hope it does well) and this goes to show that it was rushed out to compete as they are even supposedly adding a DVD player to the console (emphesis on supposedly) and if they had thought things over properly and not rushed the console out then they might last maybe a day longer than the N64!
Forget the Resident Evil rubbish, read reviews on www.gamespot.com and www.ign.com to find out that the game is nothing ultra special and is just an update in the series and look at it this way, the PS2 new that the series was coming to an end after a great career so they sold the franchise to guess what people... NINTENDO, LOL! All Nintendo seems to do is rehash old games from other consoles of both their own and other consoles. Anyone can bring out old games, Microsoft could just release:
Shenmue 1
Jet Grind Radio
Virtua Tennis 1
Virtua Tennis 2
But instead they have had the brains to bring out the latest addition like:
Jet Set Radio Future
Shenmue 2
Microsoft are giving gamers what they want, no-one wants old rehashes of ex PLAYSTAION ONE games! LOL, face it the GameCube is a console that is not going to survive and it should have been called an N64.2!

With over 200 amazing games promised before Christmas on top of the having the worlds most powerful graphical and sound engine that all you Ninties could only dream of and we have the Worlds MOST POWERFUL games console and with the games to back it up! THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN ARGUE WITH, NOTHING! How can you complain about all the games out and coming out when they are truly mouth watering.
This is a desperate plee to just SHUT YOUR MOUTHS AND KNOW YOUR ROLES! Because in here we are sick of all you GameCube owners trying to convince yourselves that you have made the right descion! If you think you have then I AM PLEASED FOR YOU, YES THAT IS RIGHT I AM PLEASED FOR YOU, IN FACT I AM OVER THE MOON! Right I will give you my opinioin, please read through it and understand why:
After gaming for over 10 years and owning most of the consoles I am expereinced in this field and I love to game and discuss in both reviews and discussions. At the age of 15 I am always looking for the next big thing in both gaming and sport. After owning a PS2 which was sold to buy my Xbox and having play tested the GameCube for over 6 months now I have come to the conclusion that I like the Xbox best out of all the 3 next generation consoles.
In the past I have enjoyed the pleasure Nintendo gave me, I have owned the NEZ, SNEZ and Nintendo 64 (Snez being my favourite) but after purchasing my N64 I lost faith in Nintendo as I felt that the console was a let down. I owned 007 Goldeneye (great game), Mission Impossbile, Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart 64 (great fun) but this was all I ever wanted to buy for the console. I know games like Perfect Dark and Zelda were superb additions to the console but I never got around to purchasing them. I sold my N64 3 weeks ago now and I will probably never buy a Nintendo product again. Nintendo do not appeal to my gaming nature and although they aim at casual games I want something more hardcore (stricktly gaming sense) that appeals to what I like, for this I found the Microsoft Xbox.
I know this may seem childish but I like to own what is the most powerful! The Xbox is this and although the console delivers the most advanced sytem in itself I feel that it also has the games to back it up. I won't list the games again as I am sure we are all aware of what is up and coming to the console and I feel that bench-mark titles are among them. One of the games that most excites me on the Xbox is 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell' which is a game derived from the PC and graphically enhanced for the Xbox. I am into first person, third person and driving gaming genres and after researching the console for over 3 months before purchase and analysing the games one by one I feel that the Xbox will give me all of what I want and more.
Being a very experienced and hardcore gamer, I have held almost every pad on the market and used most peripherals available for my chosen console. After play testing the GameCube pad and owning a PS2 one the Xox pad appeals to me more than ever! The sheer size of it makes my hands feel comfortable and the button positioning is great. For racing games the shoulder pads are used to accelerate and brake which I find the most innovative addition to a racer yet. The D-Pad and Analog sensitivity suits me greatly and so far it has worked superbly with the 5 games I have played with it. Alhough I am yet to test every genre out whilst using the game pad I am very confident that it will suit every game it plays with.
As well as being into games I am also a movie fan, I have 17 DVD's with an 18th coming very soon and without a DVD player in my bedroom all of these would go to waste. This was a very big help when desciding between purchasing an Xbox or GameCube as it would effect the way I used and played on it. Although the DVD playback is expensive I will be investing in it very soon to fill in my entertainment needs. Although facts and figures may seem irrelavant the DVD player in the Xbox is 4 times the speed of the PS2 DVD player and when watching such high quality material you can notice the difference greatly.
The Xbox is probably the size of your average VCR, but it needs to be as it houses the most complex and original system that no other console has done so far. In the centre of the console lies the famous "X" which makes the Xbox stand out and show people what it is! I really like the design of it and the colours really appeal to my nature, it is slick, futruristic and it looks powerful.
The console itself is home to 4 USB controller ports, front loading DVD drive and the standard eject button all on the front of it. The back of the console consists of your standard Audio/Video out port, the power supply outlet and a special digital port for HDTV.
Instead of doing what other consoles have done to this date the Xbox has taken a brave and successful leap into adding an " 8GB Hard Drive " which neither the PS2 or Game Cube have done into the console itself to cut down on the loading times and make it easier for game saves onto the Xbox instead of the usual memory card, although the memory card can be bought if data needs to be transferred from one Xbox to another. The Hard Drive will also eventually be used to download extra characters, levels and gaming demos.
Microsoft have promised a $2 Billion invest into the future of the Xbox and with the games that are coming out it will really help to promote and advertise gaming worldwide. With this amount of finacial backing the future of the Xbox is set to be a solid a very successful one that will please gamers all round with the market having such prosporous investers which will help to give gamers world wide a better deal.
I am very impressed with the Xbox so far, load times have been superb, the graphics I have witnessed are the best I have ever seen and the speed at which games run at (frame rate) seems to be at least 60fps for all the games out/coming out on it. The sheer power of the console impresses me and with the gaming power to back it up I feel that the competition will have to really boost their ideas up otherwise the Xbox will conquer all!
I hope both the GameCube and PS2 can compete with the Xbox as it will make the gaming market a very interesting place to be around in the next few years. With award winning titles out and on the way I can only see one way forward for this console and it is >>>>>>!

And finally you have the known titles that are getting ported over to the X-Box or that will be shared titles such as Sega's titles, Onimusha 2, EA sports titles, Metal Gear Solid Substance, WWE Raw Is War 2, Turok Evolution, MOH : Allied Assault, Unreal Championship, Grand Prix 4, Championship Manager (possible online play), Soul Caliber 2, Mortal Kombat, etc, etc, etc - the list goes on.
Basically the West is bringing its best which tends to be the more realistic style games, war games, FPS and Sports titles, while the likes of Sega, Namco, Konami and Capcom are bring that Japanese touch to the X-Box. Out of the 3 consoles, I'd say the X-Box has the better line up of Sega titles, especially with Microsoft managing to grab the likes of JSRF, Crazy Taxi 3 and Toe Jam & Earl 3 as exclusives. I've also heard that Streets Of Rage is on the way which will be interesting as that game hasn't appeared since the days of the Megadrive/Genesis.

Yes! The X-box has a hard-drive! Fantastic! That means you can.....you can....ummm...not have to bother changing discs when you want to change games! You can just install it...oh wait..install...
Oh and another thing, my friends X-box crashed the other day and it wiped everything on the drive. Funny that, huh?

Weather Xbox live takes off in this country or not, you have to admit it sounds very exciting. I presume you have read the artiles about it and your not under the impression it is simply just another online service.
32 Unreal championship battles with voice communicator. Yes please. And the way MS are planning that it works, basically log in and invite friends to play games though an MSN style communication sounds alot better than being given a list of servers that is used with PC games.
I should take off in america anyway, as most homes have broadband. I may get broadband for it alone if it turns out to be really good. In my view, Sony and Nintendo's online plans sound dull in comparason. Sony plan to have 5 online games avalable by this time next year. MS plan to have 30.
