From what I've read, restless dreams doesn't add much to SH2, just the ability to play Maria in a section of the game. Its also coming to the PS2, so no doubt I'll be checking it out sinse I'm a fan of the game. Good news about SH3 though, even though this is the first I've heard of it, I'm just glad its in development.

Silent hill was a great game on the PSone, and silent hill 2 is a great game on the PS2. I do like GTA3 and think its very fun to play, but I can't see how it can be compared to SH2. Its one of the few survival horror games that’s actually scared me while playing, not even the resi series came close to scaring me as much as SH2.
There are some holes in the plot, but that isn't much of a problem because SH2 is one of the most atmospheric games ever made. Its got good voice acting (unlike the predecessor), an intriguing storyline, great graphics and as I've said a very strong atmosphere. I hope kanomi decide to bring out another sequel, because I think they'd have to be mad not to. We need more games like this.

I fully appreciate Silent Hill 2 - marvellous game.
What made it truly stand-out over other survival horror games was the story and the characters: surreal and unnerving - you never quite knew who was real.
Was the main character dreaming the whole thing? - Who knows.
SH2 is more Psychological Horror than Survival Horror.
I also love the main theme tune.
All in all: a dark masterpiece. Ten times the game GTA3 will ever be.
