I can't wait to see what Konami have in store for this game, needless to say there will have to be new charecters and locations this time round, I can't see it following on from SH2.

Excellent.
Good news: it's in development.
Bad news: it'll probably only be out next year.
Oh well, it should be worth the wait.

Oh yeah, Sr have 4 shots of SH3, it looks as freaky as ever. Looks like there is a new monster as well, like the pyramid head. It also looks like the game is set in a city this time, one of the shots looks like its in a subway. Cool, now we definatly know its in development, I can't wait to see Kanomi have in store for us this time.

I think that's the way it'll go. The past of Silent Hill is probably much more interesting and mysterious.

Yeah, I forgot about the multiple endings.
I think I got the one were James drove his car into the lake.

I think you're right though, the lead character will have to be someone new.

I think it would be interesting if SH3 was a prequel. Silent hill is a town with a deep and mysterious history, I think it would be good if we found out a little more about the past. Maybe then it could be explained why whats happening to the town is happening.

Well it would be hard, cos SH2 has four different endings. I got one where James and Mary say goodbye and he leaves with Laura, my mate got one where James drove into the lake and drown.

Perhaps they could add a twist, you could be a copper on the search for James, Silent Hill could come back to life and the town could be like a normal town. Then gradually the events of what happened there to make it a ghost town could gradually unfold.

That would be cool.

Yeah, it's difficult to see how the lead character is going to be drawn back to Silent Hill for a 3rd time.
But the game is very surreal, so maybe anything is possible.
Perhaps he'll go back in a kind of dream/nightmare - with the whole game being the visions of his tormented and disturbed mind.
Then again, maybe that would be taking things too far into the realms of make-believe.....

The only problem I can see with SH3 is where is it going to be set. I think everywhere has been explored in silent hill through the previous two games, which means we may have seen all the town has to offer.

I can't recall exactly where I read about SH3, but I definately did. Should be good... should be very good.
