If you haven't already heard, the online adapter and hard-drive unit could be more affordable than expected.

According to PSM2, Sony are apparently considering a rental scheme for those who don't with to pay for the add-ons.

A small fee will get you the new equipment, with Sony upgrading or repairing units for free, just as Sky or NTL would do for their set-top boxes.

I meant to post this last night, and don't currently have PSM2 with me; I can't recall the prices given, but will post them tonight, unless anyone else does so beforehand.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that it's a very interesting development.

I've lost interest, Sony have been on about the add-ons since launch and we haven't seen anything in the way of retail. Unless it does something super duper that my PC can't do I'm not bothering, The whole HDD and modem business sounded great back in 2000 but it's too late to spend a large amount of money on. I might get the modem when FF11 is about, but thats not for another year at least!!

Iv'e just been searching around and can't find anything that says when UK will be going online - US is August.

Let's hope it's not too much longer because it really will make a big difference in keeping the PS2 at the top of the tree. I look forward to being able to whip the a55es of some of the gimps on here (though most of them would probably wipe the floor with me !)

It all sounds interesting but I really want to know some details about when it's all going to happen.

When it does wouldn't it be great if we could have some kind of Forum championship type thing and we could find out for real just how good some of those on here reaaly are at their games !

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
