I know I've written something half decent when a few days after not thinking about it, not listening to it, not playing it, I suddenly find it going round my head. :D

Generally the first time I listen to something I've written I just think:
"...well wasn't that an absolute load of crap"

If it grows on me, I know I've done something right :D

I agree with that.

I was trying to write a full (not full, but you know..) acoustic song after I'd got the chord progression, rhythm and that bit at about 1:10 but then I got bored and came up with some metally stuff too...

2.00 'til 3.32 remains the best part.

Not lame, just out of place I think. Not to sure about how it leads onto the next part either, kinda just stops.
