Yep that's right, there's been scores of these starting up, but all have failed. Let's make this thread a place for PC gamers to chat. Post anything you like in here, comments, reviews, but no spam please.

OK, lets keep this going gamers. For beige box and country!!
Or something like that. :)

Flashpoint is one of my favourite games of all time, and despite it's relatively simple look, it is a bit of a system hog. It's mainly due to the games it's openness, their can be so much happening on screen at once that computers below the minimum specification can run a bit slow.

Still, this will only affect the game on the really big battles, and luckily the game tends to stay in smaller conflicts than huge open assaults.

There is already a huge community around the game, and you should easily be able to find plenty of things to download for it, whether it's new missions or new vehicles.

If you're interested, try out: http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?newlang=eng

They have a huge database of extras for the game, and they also have all the patches ever released for the game.

Seem to have got Operation Flashpoint working a bit better by running it through my CD-rom rather than the DVD/CD+RW. Although still a bit jerky from what I've been learning over the last couple of days that may be a problem with the game. Hoping the Patches I've downloaded at work will sort that out but there's a hell of a lot of them and some arn't small either! Still have them all on my work computer so should be able to transfer them to home by mid next week. Even with 64Mb USBee will take 2 trips!

I also learnt that there is a website devoted to the game! Presumably where you can go to meet up with like minded people! I've run across this with AOE but didn't realise things had got so desperate! The more I find out the more I realise that I am merely scratching at the surface!

Anyway must dash, 2.10am, am sober & in need of my bed. Rugby Tomorrow with a night off from the family so unlikely to be here tomorrow night. If I am I'll be a bit drunk!

Read you all sunday,

Congrats you guys, hope it works out.

Just had Operation Flashpoint (1) from Loan_Gamer. Hard work, at least it seems to be. I've been checking up on it 'cos it seems so juddery and there are a few patches that I may have to download. But they are big downloads so I'll do it at work. Have just bought 64mb USBee for just that purpose so hope it works OK.

Let me know how this review thing goes for you. Tempted tho' I might be I ain't gonna try muscle in, just ain't got time (or, perhaps, the ability) to be writing review every evening, just yet. However, if they're still looking in 3 months let me know. (Loan Gamer will run out about then so I'll be back to buying games etc)

Hope you won't be to busy to keep posting!

Yep, joined up and I've just submitted a review of MOH: Allied Assault. I'll see if I get a reply in a day or two. The good thing about writing for the site is their is no word count so you can be as descriptive and talk as much about the game as you want.

I can why IB decided to limit his posting in that forum though, besides the PC gaming forum and movie forum, I can't seem to find any decent posts to reply to anywhere else.

In a good way naturally. It's quite nice just to talk mild chatter, rather than the OTT arguments I have with him.

Ib usually stays in the Life forum now, so I don't think we'll be seeing him here, at least not as much as we used to.
