I want to talk to you about you as gamers. We all love games on here and thats why we are here apart from mystique possibly. However us as a gamer world have one major fault. The vast majority of gamers are hypocrites.
I will explain for you. What are most people complaining about on this forum??
No not which console is better although that is the most talked about topic on here.
The answer is people are crying out for original titles. I hear you saying whats wrong with that and I will tell you the problems come when an original title comes along.
"Its too short"
"Epeleptic fit enducing"
"Short burst of fun nothing much after though"
This are a few comments people have said about an original title called REZ. If people are crying out for original titles dont you think people would say the game is"pushing the boundaries of games"
I think Hypocritcy is the second reason Sega Failed with the dreamcast. Sega are the most intuitive developers of the modern era. Even more than nintendo (sorry ninties) but because of these original titles (Jet Set radio anyone) only hardcore gamers bought the console thus it failed. Dont get me wrong Sega's advertising was quite pathetic.
If anywhere that has prospered from original titles its the PC format. I believe this is because Adults are more into PC gaming and the PC format is a stable "aint goin away anytime soon" format.
So I plead to people Wake up and accept Original Games or we will get Mario 35 and FIFA number 600 before the years end please dont be so hypocritical.
Thanks for your time I hope you enjoyed reading my post :) Good day to everyone

Oh yeah sorry, yeah it was a good post, mainly because its true.
For me if a game is fun then its good. Sequels can be great if the orginal was good. I like the Resident Evil series so having sequel after sequel would be great, as its the same type of game that I love but with a different setting story line.
Inovation is great with games as great games like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Super Monkey Ball etc have been released. But for me as long as a game is fun then I dont care if its orginal or not. I've actually never complained or thought to myself that there should be more orginal games out.
An example is with the game sacrifice on the PC. I was at first turned off by the game because I didn't like the look of it, and despite getting good reviews from everywhere; I never gave the game a second glance. Then I played the demo, and was hooked. It was so refreshing playing the game, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed every bit of a games gameplay. Unfortunately the game didn't do so well, not even featuring in the top 10 on its release, which instead featured the usual run of FPS and RTS games.
I have yet to buy the game yet, although I can't seem to find it in any of the games shops. Its a shame that titles like sacrifice, games which push the games market forward with new, fresh and original ideas, get thrown in the bargain bin and forgotten about, while more and more sequels of the same games go on selling thousands.
I think its just most gamers today are afraid to try something new.
Rez is in my opinion a sublime game: as an overall package it has its flaws - perhaps it's a little too repetitive, a bit too short - but as a "concept" and in terms of offering the gamer a new and unusual experience, it is fantastic.
In every entertainment medium, originality is always a rare thing. Yeah it can have its faults; yeah sometimes it can feel incomplete, but I think we should always try to embrace originality wherever and whenever we come across it.
If you ask me: games like Rez should be in every gamer's collection.
Compare that with the likes of FFX or the GBA's Golden Sun. Essentially these two games are exactly the same: plot and graphical differences aside the gaming dynamics are identical. Not much originality there, or any sense that the genre is being pushed forward. And though these sorts of RPGs might start off fun and involving, they quickly become repetive and joyless: the fortieth hour of gameplay is, in essence, the same as the first. Yawn.
I say, take the Rez option. Cram as much fun into an hour of gameplay as possible. Leave the pre-rendered cutscenes to the movies.
