LOL "WE?"
Fanboys...when will they learn?
Sony seem to be taking the same route they did with the PS1 in that they'll basically take anything so it boosts the library of choice. Nintendo seem to be doing another N64 way of things where there aren't that many games out. Now that Smash Brothers is out, Pikmin is on the way, but beyond that, things are going to be very quiet for quite awhile.
X-Box will apparenty have 200 titles available by christmas and of course at the moment is aiming at the same types of people as Sony. If the interviews are anything to go by, Microsoft are starting this way and are gradually looking to expand outwards. Basically they are going to start by attracting the same audience as Sony, but want to gradually push games out that appeal to all different age groups so that there are games for everyone.
As far as exclusive third party titles go, I think Microsoft are securing the majority of the best ones. Personally I'm really looking forward to when the console goes online too because a lot of work is going into this area so it'll be nice to see what happens. I'm really looking forward to games where players can face off in large teams such as Unreal Championship.
Gamecube: has gone for people who just wanna have arcadey style fun (there seems to be plenty quality pick up & play games but lacking a bit on the epic titles)
X-Box: has gone for pure quality and depth but less of them (eg Halo, PGR) a bit like the ol' N64 (theres nothin up with that)
PS2: has gone for the middle ground, all the main 3rd party titles that'll appear on the others plus a coupla extra exclusives.

Hey amigo, I know it's a serious argument for some... and that's why I took the p!55 out of it. :o) The reasons you have already stated mean that this argument, and all others these Nintendo 'fans' come up with, are all pretty pathetic. I'm tired of coming into the Xbox forum and seeing someone say 'yea but the GC is SO MUCH BETTER - I mean look you can fit it anywhere!'. Where exactly are you going to want to put it apart from under your TV? Up your ar5e? In your eye lid? I mean come on.
Seriously though, I have nothing against the GC as a console. What I really do hate is when Ninties sugarcoat everything to make the GC look wonderful. One of my favourite Ninty lines has to be the one that covers for the lack of being able to play DVD's on the console. X-Box and PS2 are "entertainment systems" while the GC is a pure games machine which makes it much better. ;-))
Another excellent line is "X-Box has no good games, it only has Halo while GC has Mario and Perfect Dark !" 2 titles - excellent. ;-))
Fanboy's can be funny with their comments. But when they actually fool themselves into believing the crap they come out with it can get annoying because while you take the time to come up with why a console like the X-Box is good and why it deserves some credit, a fanboy just refuses to take the reasons in and will just shout the usual crap as I mentioned above.
Ironically, what you did as a joke Gar-J is a serious arguement to some. You have to take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks! I must admit I truly deserved that smacking for actually taking time to write in here and try and boast about the Gamecube being small. I mean, I came in here with the attitude that graphics don't matter. Neither does sound. Neither do good games. Neither does power. All that mattered to me was that it was smaller than the Xbox. I have now seen the error of my stupid ways, and I can see what a ponsey thing that was to try and promote. I really hope there aren't others like me on here.................

So, you only spent £129.99 on your Gamecube? What a bargain! I'd have thought since it doesn't have a HDD (or hard disk drive for you young Nintendo lovers here with their cuddly games), that you would need to fork out another 20 quid on a memory cartridge just to save your games? I must be wrong. Everyone's getting their complete gaming excperience for £129.99 and not a penny more. Either that or they're just forgetting the extra cash for a decent SCART cable and memory cartridge, not to mention games. Do all these come free or something?
Sorry, me going on about how small it is

Thank for the offer. :-) ::punt to Gar-J's head:: Meh, the feeling is overrated.

Don't forget that the Gamecube is so elite you can fit it down your Jap's eye. Oops, that point has nothing to do with the quality of the system, its games, its ability to handle polygons, its sound capability, or anything else. Sorry, me going on about how small it is and trying to make that sound kewl proved to be completely USELESS. You may now kick in my head for using such a PATHETIC reason to try and boost Nintendo's console above 'bag full of scrotums' status.

No, I should have thought before doing so but it is just such amazing value!
