Since the Xbox launch Microsoft's first gaming console seems to have had the worst run ever.

Firstly, it dropped £100 pounds in it first month, and not many quality games have been released since launch.

However, do you think with a built in hard-drive, DVD playback and the fastest processor of them all, Xbox has the most potential to become the best games console ever?

Most of these games are about five years old! Look - Lego Loco, H of M&M 2 and GTA. Why would we want these? You are such a retard! I suppose you're eagerly waiting for these to come out on the GC and PS2 later this year? Muppet...

Oh no! I thought that we were going to get Nhl 98!! That's it, I'm gonna go and sell my X-Box now :-P

i think xbox stinks. join me in my section XBOX stinks. coz it has no good games haha spend your money wisely boys!! buy a gamecube 129.99 only yes anough to get extra pad and game toeven with xbox s****y price....!!

Yeah I apologize Wookiee for saying that you are biased. That was a bit of an uncalled for comment on my part.

Because my PC is about as powerful as a pocket calculator, I suppose with all the latest PC games coming to XBOX [plus my favourite games such as the Shenmue series & Crazy Taxi 3], the future of console seems much brighter for me.

Wookiee, sorry I made a mistake. That 48,000 sales figure was for the UK alone, over the launch weekend. Not Europe.

This opinion is becoming like an urban myth - that the XBOX doesn't have any good games coming out for it.
If you don't like the games coming soon to XBOX then that's your choice, but you can't say that the GC and the PS2 has a better line-up of games coming out in the next 12 months. It's a myth. The kind of codswallop that fatally damaged the Dreamcast.
There are great games coming to all consoles.

Well, FFX is another which is a no-no for me. Just not interested. But there's a list as long as my arm due between now and Xmas (two next month alone), which I just don't have for Xbox.

I came across it last week, when I found the article about Xbox's "irrelevance" in Japan. It only said 'on hold', not cancelled. I'll try and find them again, but they were on news sites and so may no longer be available as the sites have updated.

Sorry - no offence, but I can't describe that as going "well". I don't know how many units were made available, but that is surely an abysmal figure.

My thoughts exactly. MS are the first to shout loud and proud about good sales figures, and the fact that they have stayed quiet says more than words ever could.

Agreed, but even without considering those PS2 figures, it can only be described as a very low-key, moderately successful entry into the market.

People will say, "Oh, of course the Xbox will never overhaul PS2". But what they're forgetting is all the bravado that MS had before the machine was available. They really seemed to think that they were going to smash Sony and make the PS2 a blot on the videogames landscape; they almost went as far as saying so. That clearly was a major over-estimation of the effect they would have on the market.

Personally, I'd have gone with the latter option, simply to keep people interested and buying the machine over that time. With the 8-week quiet patch they've had now, they've pulled the rug from under their own feet.

Over the next few months, people will see the games appearing on PS2 and Gamecube. Those who've got all three consoles won't mind. Those who've made a choice, such as yourself, may groan a bit and think 'Oh well'. But those who've yet to decide *may* be swayed towards the competition.

True, again. It's down to the individual preference, but those who are undecided/neutral will tend to go with what's offering the best when they walk in the shop. So far, for me and I dare say many others, that's not going to be the Xbox.

And I can't stress enough (for the others who aren't YH) this is ONLY my opinion. *I* have found the Xbox a disappointment so far. That doesn't mean that you will, nor does it mean that it's a bad machine. I'm not knocking the machine at all, just the software available.

DOA3, Munches, and JSR all come from an already original stable of prequels, and this is all opinion. The GC and even the PS2 have a far better future, in terms of software arrving soon - Only two of Nintendos francises have been used so far - Luigi and Wave Race - SSBM, Mario Kart/Sunshine/Sports titles, 1080, Zelda, F Zero, PD Zero etc all to arrive, with loads more others to come soon. XBox as far as I can see has nothing to beat this - Nintendo and PS2 all have 'one of the best.......ever'
