Saw a few Skylines on a track day at Silverstone, and they were pretty damned sweet. Then they were overtaken by a 911, then an obscenely powerful Escort Cossie over-took the lot. Then it would seem that the 911 took some kind of grudge against said Cossie, but couldn't catch it and ended up spinning and mashing up its front pretty badly.
If you ask me the Skylines weren't giving all they got, but that Cossie was a beast!
Also saw a nice new Impreza P1 take a corner too fast, go into the gravel sideways and roll two or three times. Got great photos of that one...
I'm going this year in a mates ancient fibreglass BMW Alpina (2.7 Straight 6), although I think I'll stay off the track as its a bit of a deathtrap..

I saw a skyline at a racetrack once. It didnt go on the track unfortunately though. I think that evo's are one of, if not the best car in the world. My personal favorite though is the evo 4, although i appreciate that the evo 7 is probably faster and generally better i prefer the look of the 4. I will own one!

Top of the range Skyline's have got g-meters in so that you can see how much 'g' you're pulling when cornering and acceleration. More to the point, you can record the g-meter readings onto a floppy and download them onto your PC so you can compare the drive home from work with yesterdays.

Gadgetry aside, and while they are complete beasts, you know full well whenever you see someone driving one that they're likely to be a nob.

only uses one pump though, just has twin rotary, like saying normal 1.3 cars with 4 valves have 5.1 engines, not true, it's a 1.3, it's a Rotary because it's damn class, best thing about it it only uses 3 parts (including the casing) whereas pappy pistons have over 40, Rotary costs more and you won't find many monkeys that fix them. Anyway, Skylines are nice, would have thought seeing as your brothers buying one he'd be slightly intrested in cars and you'd have already known what one is, they're hardly run of mill cars.

Actually it is a twin rotary engine, i.e two 1300cc rotors. Therefore it is a 2.6, and a twin turbo to boot. And It probably would give a Skyline a run for its money, they both have a similar top speed, (although the Skyline has a limiter as standard)

If he's lucky he might be able to pick up a new R34 Skyline "Nur", which has better turbos and a re-inforced engine. Also, good timing as they will soon cease production of Skyline GTRs, and he would have to wait for a couple of years for a brand spanking new skyline. Although in my opinion the new R35 looks ugly as hell. It may be the only Skyline GTR to be built to be a performance car from the ground up (all other GTRs are based on lesser Skyline models), but it is minging.
