Not wanting to start a "mine console is better than yours" argument, but I was just looking through the latest Special Reserve mag, when I noticed a strange trend amongst the Xbox games: a high percentage are conversions from the PC or PS2! (I know that the GC has a certain amount of conversions like Burnout, Crazy Taxi, Sonic 2, but the Xbox has loads!!)

Badlurs Gate: Dark Alliance
Burnout
Champ Manager 01/02
Commandos 2
Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex
Dark Summit
David Beckham Soccer
F1 2002
Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Onimusha
Grand Prix 4
Giants
GTA3
Legends of Wrestling
Soul Reaver 2
Max Payne
Allied Assault
Loads of NFL, NBA, NHL titles
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Silent Hill 2
Simpsons Road Rage
SSX Tricky
Spy Hunter
Tony Hawks 3
Jedi Starfighter
Unreal Championship
And Deus Ex 2 is coming soon (yet another PC conversion)
Colin Mcrae 3
Metal Gear Solid 2??
etc etc

Plus loads of tired sequals or multi platform releases like Spider-Man the Movie, Galleon, Cel Damage, Mike Tyson Boxing, TOCA Race Driver, FIFA, Dave Mirra etc.

Where are all the killer Xbox exclusives like Halo, Dead or Alive(sequal), JSR Future(sequal), Project Gotham(remake/sequal), Oddworld(sequal)?

Gamers want original titles, not a load of conversions don't they?

Who ever said the Xbox was a PC disguised as a console?;)

This was the exact same reason I didn't dsecide to get an x-box in the first place. there is only Halo which appeals to me, the rest of the games on the console I can get for either my PC or my PS2. The system needs to start some fresh franchises of its own if it wants to stay afloat in the console market.

I think saying the Xbox is the home of PC and PS2 conversions is unfair.

Their are plenty of games on the Xbox that are ONLY on Xbox.

Its good that conversions are available though. The best conversions all have enhanced Xbox features for graphics.

But surely that's what makes the Xbox.PS2 good multiplayer machines? after an exauhstive search of all years, cunningly disguised as a survey, I have found a mere 2 people who own GameCubes in my school. This means that good competition is going to be nearly impossible to find. However, there are in total about 80 PS2/Xbox owners, and because some games are available to all of them, then finding a worthy opponent is easy for me, and they don't even have to own the same console.

And please, no one say Resident Evil is going to be a fantastic AAA Title. There has never been a good RE game.

Maybe if they got rid of those absolutely diabolical fixed camera angles though...

Fine then, just those buttons. Doesn't matter, it's still crap. :D

I don't get what people's (ie. Nintys) problem with sequels are. As long as they're not a total copy of its predesseccor (sp?) then I have no problem in buying it. After all, if the first one was good (which it usually has to be to make a sequel) then surely the sequel will be better, at least gameplay and graphics-wise.

I take it you're all looking forward to Perfect Dark 2? If I had a GC, it'd be about the only game I'm looking forward to.

And the X-Box? Has its fair share of good games, including Halo, Project Gotham, Max Payne and Championship Manager, but I can get most of these types of games on the PS2 so I'm not too worried.

And at the moment anyway, the PS2 still offers the widest variety of games, and it obviously offers more good games than the other consoles because it's been out longer. Anyone who says the PS2 doesn't offer any AAA titles is taking crap, to be honest. In my mind, some of the PS2 titles out now are better than some of the 'best' still to come on the GC.

I've looked at the GC titles out now and still to come, and the only titles I really like the look of are Roque Leader and Bounty Hunter. Note that Bounty Hunter is also on the PS2. And Jedi Starfighter puts up a decent fight against Roque Leader.

There's no doubts that the GC will be an improvement on the dyer N64 (in my opinion), but at the moment it's not worth parting £170 for. However, just check out some of SR's PS2 Fire Packs and you will find something worth it. {:)

All you Nintys can go back to playing with your mushrooms, flowers and white sheets with faces on them, while I go take out evil terrorists and win the Galacting Pod-Racing Tournament with Teemto Pagalies.

That is why I am a Nintendo fan - They now have a lot of ports yes, but they do have the most superb games ever - Far better than anything the XBox can throw at them in terms of playbility. I know the XBox has some superb games, as does the PS2, but they never have the 'feel' of a quality Nintendo title.

The X_Box may have some decent games, 1/2 pint pointed that out, but the thing is that only a few are great. Now Halo is a great game and so is DOA3, but the games to come don't seem to promise as much as they have given.....

The PS2 has the same problem, it has MGS2 and GTA3, but nothing yet to come which will keep console sales up.

The GameCube is suffering at the moment with a lack of amazing titles, sure there are a lot of good games, but none which will challenge SM64 or Zelda OOT. But the future for the 'Cube looks bright with Metroid Prime, Resident Evil, Mario sunshine, the new Zelda and many others.

It's all well and good looking to the future now, but there won't be an end to the arguement until we are in the future, then we'll be looking ahead again!

Perhaps in your opinion, but saying that Halo isn't a killer title is stupid. DOA 3 is a brilliant fighting game and yet to be beaten by any other console. Its better than Tekken 4 and SSBM isn't the same type of fighting game. JSRF is original and great, not matched by anything on any other console.

This is just another example of anti-Microsoft hype. While I have to admit that a lot of the games are multi-platform games or sequels, the ONLY decent PS2 games which aren't multiplatform or sequels are Devil May Cry (not sure if its on Xbox, but I think it is), GT3, MGS2 and FF10. And that's it. And while all the future 'killer apps' are just sequels of what made proud the PS2 either at launch (Timsplitters) or soon after (Star Wars Starfighter). So the Xbox may not have a very varied launch schedule, but neither does the PS2. And the Xbox is much better than the PS2 in terms of controller and power, and the hard drive allows for downloading of data which is great, especially for playing music. So if the Xbox is pointless, the PS2 is just as pointless.

A very, VERY mindless, biased and untrue topic, especially since there are tonnes of great games coming in the future such as Crash, Gun Valkyrie, Star Wars KOTOR, Buffy, Deus Ex 2 (Xbox exclusive, I'll have you know) and many more.

Look at the PS2's schedule and you'll see its very lacking in non-sequel/multiplatform games.

If you want to start a console wars topic, at least give the whole story, not just a narrow minded argument trying to justify why the most popular console should therefore be the best. Stupid...

Whats more is that many PS2 games developers who are bringing their games out on Xbox aren't even changing the games at all (despite Xbox's superior spec, graphic abilities, etc...) because they don't see the point and it is not cost effective.

This means that for many games such as FIFA 2002 World Cup, GTA3, etc the Xboxs extra power is wasted.
