Heh, yes, but you can also have Linux running in a window on Windows! It's horrible though. Or, you can go the full-screen VNC option if you have another Linux box other than the one with Windows on. Enter luke...

I think I'm going to start messing with Linux after my GCSE's, that's my plan anyway. I doubt I'll keep to it mind.

I didn't know you could unzip a .tgz on Windows but I've never had reason to try. Where I've seen them on the web, there is always a .zip alternative so I've always gone for that.

Sure you can unzip tgz (tar.gz) files on Windows - I have myself. Try pkunzip or ICEOWS. However, the chances of you actually WANTING to open a tgz file on Windows are minimal.

WinAce, WinRAR.. same difference. I knew it was Win something. Come to think of it, it probably is WinRAR but I'm still not sure.

Didn't know about WinAce, I use WinRAR, works well for me, I seem to find most of the big files I download in this format and it unzips faster than normal WinZip files, thats all.
Wouldn't have thought that even if tar.gz files could be unzipped on Windows that they'd be able to work, I thought they were Linux only files, obviously not. :)

I *think* you need a program called WinAce. I wouldn't hold me to this but when I just have a vague recollection of .rar and WinAce going together.

I don't know where you can get it from but it's most likely on download.com or something.
