I got my copy last night, although it wont be in shops till monday (I'm a subscriber, we get our as soon as it is finished)

I was pretty shocked when I opened the pack to discover the brand new look. When they say it is the biggest magazine, they are right. It is big. Not just because it has more pages (hint hint)

The new look is pretty fresh. They have finally got away from the old font set that has been their trademark since issue 1.

And no more worldy bloke. He seems to have been replaced by a rather kinkey manga style girl, reminiscent of jo-dark.

Its got loads of reviews this issue, and overall is prety helpful.

THe free gift is pretty good, was what I had guessed it would be. Its a shame it didnt include more on smash bros, or pikmin tho.

One thing I would like to see is a return of the directory, so you can see at a glance what games are worth getting, and which are a pile of dung.

"NGC has gone downhill sine the days of yore"
but my autocorrect changed it.

NGC has gone a little downhill since the days of your, mainly because it has become shorter over the years. The writing in the reviews used to be so much more important than the pictures, and in that respect, NGC has become more and more like NOM, because it now has more picture space than writing.
Now, while I enjoy looking at pictures, I much prefer reading about the game. The writing was always amusing, but as the reviews have become more information heavy, the humor has degenerated somewhat.
Deciding which magazine to get would be a challenge to some people (not me, I have a subscription to NGC) because in essence the magazines all have the same reviews and news.
CUBE has many more pictures, and more information on hardware but is this what you want?
NGC has the most writing, and is, in my view, the funniest.
NOM is nice I suppose, but I don't like it because the majority of content is aimed at under 12s, although this has changed recently.
Choose what you want.

It's really difficult to decide which one to get. Firstly the NGC mag has a free DVD but the price has gone up and personally i think the magazine itself isn't that good SOMETIMES, CUBE is a great mag but never comes with free stuff, while NOM is a great mag but again always comes with a Lego Comic which many of us don't want, you can't win really, if CUBE came with a free DVD each month i would go with them. :) P.S Sometimes even the official mag is wrong, when asked if there was going to be a Wario game for the gamecube their answer was No but i'm sure one is coming out.

I much prefer the old look, not just because the postman had to bend it in half (he still did it even though there was cardboard there).
