Quite simply, this console is amazing.

Us poor PAL gamers have been punted hashed out 50hz poorly converted NTSC titles for far too long. The colour quality ir poorer than PAL, there are big thick black borders at the top and bottom of the screen, and they're slower than the developer initially intended it to be. However, could the Gamecube buck that trend?

I currently own two Gamecube games, Star Wars Rogue Squadron and Bloody Roar Primal Fury. These two games both contain the beloved 60hhz mode, but what is even better, is the fact that the Gamecube's 60hz mode isn't simply NTSC, it's PAL60. A stroke of genius from Nintendo which allows us lucky Europeans to play games in the best analogue TV format available. Of course if your posh, you'll have HDTV, and even though the Gamecube supports this too, most of the games don't.

Anyway, enough about that, it's the sheer quality of the games I own that I'm loving. When you play a PS2, a lot of the games feel sluggish. There is noticable slow-down, rendering problems (such as the road being missing in GTA3) and all the general problems that games struggling to run bring to the frustrated gamer. Granted not all PS2 games suffer from this, an=d that points to development problems, which everyine knows have been highly reported on the PS2. It's just that Rogue Squadron is absolutely lovely. It doesn't suffer from slowdown, it doesn;t frustrate through sluggish controls, and it is the work of a genius development team.

I like my Gamecube, because every game I have seen running on the system plays absolutely superbly, and I am drooling with anticipation at the prospect of the next wave of games to be released. Pikmin and Super Smash brothers from Nintendo will be amazing.

Yes, yes......

Game is English, excuse his Sailor Boy tendancies, he's trying to convince himsekf that I'm female so that he's less embarrased by his advances towards me.

If anyone knows of a good way to kneecap an Englishman, feel free to try it out on Game..........

Stupid Brummie accent too, by the way!!

My only conclusion is that Bonus is Scottish. He's probably at the bottom of a bottle of Whiskey and he's got his kid-sister to cover for him on-line - that's the only way I can explain the half-decent grammar and relatively good spelling!

Here's an excerpt of out MSN conversation:

Bonus says:
GAME

Bonus says:
They're picking on me

To say something like that, you'd have to be a girl. It goes with the rest of them:

It wasn't what you said, but the way you said it.
I can do it, i'm a woman.

and...

I mean the exact opposite of what I say. Unless I think otherwise. But I might not tell you, and yes... I expect you to be psychic!

The only other explaination is that Bonus is a whining, whingeing girl..

I say the latter - but we can vote if you like.

In all seriousness though - Bonus was getting a 'Cube at launch anyway, and he's pretty smart, for a Scotsman... so any sensible pro-Nintendo comments shouldn't be gasped at quite so heavily.

Game :)

Slaps Meka...........

I have slanging matches with Game, the Ninty boy in the corner, that's all. Oh, and I picked on Strafex and Dringo for a while too, but there was no doubt that I'd be buying this console, and there was no doubt that I'd love it.

I loved my N64 (other than Zelda), there just wasn't enought good games to warrant me keeping it.

Roll on Pikmin and SSBM........

Indeed, Rogue Leader does look amazing. Even playing it in 50hz looks good to me...I still prefer Lylat Wars though :) Much more fun...this star wars stuff is way to Serious...

Although I only got the game this morning and have been playing the "not so realistic" Luigi's Mansion and Super Monkey Ball solid since launch.

I would love to get SSB Melée on it's Release Date, but that is just 4 days before my 2 Graphics exams, and i'd just be too busy playing it to get any revision done and get a decent grade overall!

I will get it after though, along with another pad - a Black one.
That's a game well worth paying for!!

I have to say my faith has been restored back in gaming by the Cube, I got myself a Dreamcast a while back and I just haven't played it much I was starting to think I was growing out of playing games, but then I got a GC and Rogue Leader and i'm loving them again.

GC rules, I can't wait for Smash Bros.
