I went round to my friend FatButcher's at lunchtime to have a play on his.
He's got four games - Rogue Squadron 2, Super Monkey Ball, Sonic, and Luigi's Mansion. Didn't have too much time, being a lunchtime and all, so we only got to play Rogue Squadron and SMB.
Rogue Squadron was great - very similar to Starfighter on the PS2, and I had a bit of trouble with the controls, simply because they seemed too sensitive. That'll just take some getting used to.
Didn't play the main game on SMB - there were four of us, so we went for one of the party games - Monkey Flight, I think it's called. Great fun, and very addictive. I wanted to try Monkey Pool, but we didn't have time.
The controller is great. This was the first time I'd held one, and it was very comfortable. I think I still prefer the PS2's DualShock because of the rounded grips, but it's a very close thing. Certainly better than the Xbox's semi-moulded brick, I reckon.
So will I get one? Almost certainly yes, now that I've played one. I would get one this weekend, but I already have plans that will keep me busy for most of it, so I'll have to wait. But in a few weeks, I'll probably have one.
Well done!
:D
> Wookiee, does that mean you'll have a PS2, an X-Box and a Gamecube?
It does indeed!
> Well, I know you have a PS2, but do you have an X-Box?
Yup! Though there is a slight possibility that may not be true for long.

They're doing a 'His 'n' Hers' box set of that.
Comes with a free box of batter, for the missus...
