I've just finished watching Awakenings. It was on Channel 5, not sure if any of you have seen it?

It contains the best acting I've ever seen, no question.

The film starts Robin Williams and Robert De Niro and is based on a true story about a doctor working with chronic patients, patients that have diseases such as Parkinsons etc.

It is set in 1969 and is one of the most moving films I have ever seen.

Robin Williams plays the doctor, and although he acts very well, he pales into insignificance when compared with De Niro. Some of you probably know that I'm a bit of a De Niro fan anyway, but I don't feel I'm exaggerating here.

Williams administers a drug to De Niro who has been in a state of near paralysis for the previous 30 years. He has been unable to walk, talk or move at all. The film shows the drugs working, De Niro becoming almost "normal".

I won't continue as I don't want to give anything away, but I really urge you to see this film if you can. It's in no way a feel good film, so it's probably best not rent in on a saturday night to watch with a few beers and a pizza.

But please try and watch this film, you won't regret it.

Cheers.

I nearly cried at the end of Romeo and Juliet when I realised I'd spent £12 on that piece of video sewage.

LA LA LA can't hear you, can't read this post.

Robin Williams is crap, all his films are crap.

LA LA LA.

It was the crying at the end of Forrest Gump that made me chuckle.

I was sitting outside smoking when the end of that movie came around, with mates watching it.
Terrible, terrible film

I've never seen Bambi, and I didn't cry when ET died/went home or anything

It's only recently that films have started affecting me in that way. And, yes, the end of Short Circuit 2 upset me too, as I was so young. Didn't cry though, being that I was such a hard kid!

*flexes muscles*

Oh, wait, didn't have any muscles when I was a kid...

I'm really tough because I didn't cry when Bambi's mother got shot (I laughed):)
