This time next month, France face Senegal in the World Cup opener. (I'm aware that the start is May 31st, but there isn't 31 days in April)

How are your World Cup preparations coming along? Have you got a wallchart or made your own? Are you going to try and watch ever game? Have you added an extra notch on your belt? What games are you looking forward to? (England or others, I don't care)

Do you think this the most open World Cup in years? Who, realistically, has the best chance? Who will be top goalscorer? Who will score the first goal? Who will get sent off first?

Let's heighten our World Cup expectation with memories, wishes, thoughts, etc.

I think 3-0 to France because they will be relaxed and they will want to send a message out to teams like England to let them know that there the Daddy's.

France 1 - Senegal 0

France will start poorly, give the ball away, and Senegal will have a few good chances. France will get a somewhat fortunate winner late on.

Okay, what will the score be between France and Senegal?

Who will score first?

Did anyone stay up to watch the penalty shoot-out in the 94 Final?

Yep, I'd quite like a copy.

(Strangely, I'm not willing to put my main email address up on this site...)

The 94 world cup was the last one I followed all the way through - probably because England weren't in it. Back in '98 I had GCSE's to worry about... and then I stopped watching after the Argentina game.

If anyone's interested, I've got an Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that you enter the scores into, and it works out all the tables, group progression, etc.

Not my own creation - I got it in an e-mail from a friend. So I don't know if it's official or anything, but it is pretty snazzy.

If you have Excel and want it, let me know.

I had a wallchart back in '94. Mind you, back in those days I had huge wallchart thingy's for all top 4 divisons! With League tracker and everything...

These days I got the Internet...

Internet has made me super lazy...
