May 3rd, just a few days away now, so what will happen on these forums?

I've glanced into my crystal balls, given them a good rum, and come up with these predictions:

The first "Mine has arrived" post will come in, and be barely readable, as over excited be-mittened hands hammer away at the keyboard. Goatboy will laugh. Half an hour later the original poster will come back, asking how to open the box. Goatboy will laugh even harder. Much later the poster will return again, asking where they plugin their N64 cartidges. We will hear a loud thump as Goatboy falls from his chair. Late in the evening we hear a news story about a man that's laughing so hard that he can barely breathe, and has had to be taken to hospital, tears of laughter still flowing. We assume this is Goatboy.

I post frequent reports during the day, from work, letting you know if it has arrived or not, but I'll be at work, and won't be able to play.

A few regular or notable Nintendo fans will give a 'first impressions' account of the Gamecube, then they'll disappear for the rest of the day.

A non-Nintendo fan will report that they walked past a game store at midday, and there was no one inside, so the Gamecube must be a flop. This will probably be Turbonutter.

Your Honour will come on to say that he's traded in his Xbox for a Gamecube, only to return later to say that he's changed his mind, and gone back to the Xbox. Then back to the PS2. Then a Gamecube again. Finally deciding to trade it all in for porn.

Wookiee Monster will give him first impressions of the Gamecube, having surprised us all by buying one on the spur of the moment.

A mysterious JAT will arrive, stating that the Gamecube is crap, and the new Mario game isthe worst they've played, but Zelda isn't too bad.

Late in the evening the first reports of finished games of Luigi's Mansion will come in, with some disappointment, but others will want to go back and start over.

In the customer service forum someone will insist SR are the worst company ever, as they ordered yesterday, but their Cube never came.

Finally, the first person that had their Gamecube arrive will come back to say they've got it working, and they think it's great.

I have played a few hours on the console now.

Best thing : Super Monkey Ball.

Everything else also rules. StarWars is incredible. Love the way you choose the fighter. :D

JobyOne. :D

I'm looking forward to the resurgence in console wars we'll no doubt see. No doubt some stupid JAT will swear blind his gamecube is better than someone else's, probably because he spilt his calpol on it. Expect to see lots of people who think they're the only ones to get the console, and then the inevitable backlash from people who didn't buy one, complaining about all the g*mps that would rather chat rubbish than play the damn thing. Personally, I'll be getting my GC from either Whsmith if they do a student discount, comet or ebay.

Hehe, I can certainly see the YH prediction coming true. :D

I'll be popping to check out the first impressions, from both avid Nintys and normal people who have just decided to buy one. I know where I'll be getting the best views from...

The only game I'm really interested is WrestleMania X-8, but I don't think that's a launch title.

From Friday evening to Tuesday morning I'll be staring at my TV screen like nothing else mattered. Good thing about this week-end is that May day bank holiday is there to have GC day with. What's even luckier is that my school doesn't usually have May day bank holiday off..... Maybe god (Shigeru Miyamoto) influenced the headmaster.

Great Post!
