I've glanced into my crystal balls, given them a good rum, and come up with these predictions:
The first "Mine has arrived" post will come in, and be barely readable, as over excited be-mittened hands hammer away at the keyboard. Goatboy will laugh. Half an hour later the original poster will come back, asking how to open the box. Goatboy will laugh even harder. Much later the poster will return again, asking where they plugin their N64 cartidges. We will hear a loud thump as Goatboy falls from his chair. Late in the evening we hear a news story about a man that's laughing so hard that he can barely breathe, and has had to be taken to hospital, tears of laughter still flowing. We assume this is Goatboy.
I post frequent reports during the day, from work, letting you know if it has arrived or not, but I'll be at work, and won't be able to play.
A few regular or notable Nintendo fans will give a 'first impressions' account of the Gamecube, then they'll disappear for the rest of the day.
A non-Nintendo fan will report that they walked past a game store at midday, and there was no one inside, so the Gamecube must be a flop. This will probably be Turbonutter.
Your Honour will come on to say that he's traded in his Xbox for a Gamecube, only to return later to say that he's changed his mind, and gone back to the Xbox. Then back to the PS2. Then a Gamecube again. Finally deciding to trade it all in for porn.
Wookiee Monster will give him first impressions of the Gamecube, having surprised us all by buying one on the spur of the moment.
A mysterious JAT will arrive, stating that the Gamecube is crap, and the new Mario game isthe worst they've played, but Zelda isn't too bad.
Late in the evening the first reports of finished games of Luigi's Mansion will come in, with some disappointment, but others will want to go back and start over.
In the customer service forum someone will insist SR are the worst company ever, as they ordered yesterday, but their Cube never came.
Finally, the first person that had their Gamecube arrive will come back to say they've got it working, and they think it's great.
Good one.
:-)
Should definitely have some games by then, seeing as Super Monkey Ball and Sonic Advance have been released. Anyone got these games?

And if not I'll burn down SR.

For each hand maybe?
Or maybe Ortega wants one of each colour?...
Actually, regarding Zelda, I believe he'll say:
"du nu zelda lks gay .i h8 shigsi ,link lks like a cartoon caricter !"
But that won't be for a while as the game still has no set release date.
Unless of course he's giving his own little preview.
Luigi's Mansion is just a GameCube appetiser. It's fun, and addictive, but ultimately quite shallow and short. Wave Race is good, but racing games don't tend to have enough sting to support a launch very well.
Star Wars will do well... the graphics are amazing, and if anyone has surround sound on while playing this game, they'll start crying - it's beautiful.
Super Monkey Ball looks ace, but for it to reach it full potential, Cubers need to have 4 pads, and at least as many friends.
The launch line-up certainly isn't bad, and i'd go as far as to say it's the best one for a long time. No Mario means it can't quite compare to the N64 one, but well... you can have it all... and with Melee and Courtside arriving just 3 weeks after launch, I should be able to wait for Mario.
Like I said, it's just the start of GameCube things in Europe, and it should be pretty well received - but don't expect PS2 type buzz, because Mario is Missing, so is Link, and so is Fox.
Roll on 4th May!
