And if you listened to it, add you favourite/least-favourite track(s) and briefly what you think of the CD overall.
I'll start off:
Today I brought:
Puddle of Mudd - Control
It's a pretty good CD, better than what I had expected. It's also quite 'grunge-like', and I can see why some people have compared them to Nirvana.
Some lyrics are quite lame like "smack my ass" but the music overall is good. And as for a favourite track, it's too early for me to say.
Vex Red - Start with a Strong and Persistant Desire
I haven't listened to this yet, but i've already heard 'Clone Jesus' and that's one reason as to why I brought it.
I also brought it as I got £5 off when I brought these 2 together! :)
What have you brought??
> They had an offer, 2 for £22 and I wanted both these CDs so I
> got them :)
I capitalised on the same offer to buy
Feeder - Comfort in Sound
Foo Fighters - One By One
Feeder album I am very pleased with, much better that the last two IMHO. Fav songs I guess "Comfort In Sound" and "Just The Way I'm Feeling".
Foo Fighters album doth truly rock, until about track 8 where it goes down hill big style. For the most part One by One is great though. Fav tracks "Low" and "Disenchanted Lullaby" for the moment, although I also really like "Walking the Line" which is only included on the bonus DVD. It deserves to be on the album! I shall be buying whichever single has it as a B-side...
Next on my hit list is QOTSA - Songs for the deaf. Anyone want to venture an opinion on this album?
Nirvana - Nirvana
Manics - Forever Delayed
They had an offer, 2 for £22 and I wanted both these CDs so I got them :). Only listened to Nirvana so far and it's brilliant.
> Guess who my favourite band are?
Err... Showaddywaddy?
And last night, I ordered the Faith Hill album "Cry". Don't know what it's like, but I heard one track that I liked, and decided to take a chance.
System of a Down - self titled
Tenacious D - self titled
Incubus - 'Make Yourself'
Taproot - 'Gift'
Brilliant, all-4 of them.
Tenacious D's album has got to be the funniest CD i've ever listened to!
Incubus' 'Make Yourself' is better than 'Morning View'. I forgot how great Pardon Me was.
Again and Again may still be my favourite song, but I like Taproot's first album even though that's the only song I had previously heard by them.
And System of a Down's first album is also, in my opinion, better than their second. Sugar... DDevil.... Darts..... Excellent!
A band's first album is always better than their others.
> Spekaing of Feeder, which album is the one with the track 'Rubarb' (check spelling) on it???
Rhubarb is a B-side, from the "Tangerine" single. Haven't heard it, but i'm gonna download it now!!
If they had better lyrics then they'd definitley be the best Brittish band around! And why is it that almost all well-known Brittish bands have Welsh links???
Lost Prophets - Welsh
Feeder - Partially Welsh
Phonics - Welsh
Muse - Not too sure??
and there are others.
> How good is Echo Park? That's the only one I've not got.
In my estimation, it's very similar to Yesterday Went Too Soon, but a little better. a few bland songs on it, but overall a bit more rounded. I like all the singles off it, plus "We can't rewind", "Oxygen" and "Tell all your Friends" are good too.
I've got Swim now too. Must say i'm innitially a touch disapointed by the songs that i wasn't familiar with, but i'll keep listening, see if i get used to it.
> Just got 'Toxicity' by System Of A Down ... still taking it all in ...
Great album. Best songs are Chop Suey, Toxicity, Forest, Atwa and Aerials. The hidden track is just disturbing. A tribal sacrifice hymn.
Damned HMV didn't have it though... curse them!
