I've just spotted this new internet rumour on another website which I frequent.

This £99 price has been mentioned from two different and reasonably reliable sources (Game is one of them).

It's not supposed to be common knowledge - more of an Xbox party spoiler which does make an awful lot of sense.

Don't take this as fact - it's strictly a rumour but it's been backed up with some reasonable information.

Let the speculation begin......

true but they keep the cinema afterwards, with consoles we get to keep them!

FM's crazy prediction, which may just prove true:

All the next gen consoles will be free anyway with your first game purchase. The reasoning behind this is the software sales are now right up there with cinema box office figures. And you don't buy the cinema first before you watch your first film.

Currys already have a "half price" £99 deal on PS2, but you must by 5 games with it at full price, so it actually costs about £298 anyway.

That could be a potential source of rumours.

I don't think Sony will go that low, personally - but who knows!
