Dogma, directed by Kevin Smith, is sort of a comedic look at Christianity and its beliefs. Now, I would have complained about how offending it was to me, but I didn't find it particularly offending.
The first time I watched it on DVD, it was okay. Well, above average actually. Amusing in quite a few places, a half-decent plot and some excellent acting, especially from Ben Affleck (sp?).
A couple of months later I watched it with friends, and for some strange reason it was a little better. I noticed more of those nice touches which can make a movie "truly great", and I think I actually laughed more this time than I did before.
A few months on, and I watch it for a third time. This was a couple of days ago, when my father and I watched it on a certain Movie Channel. This time it was fantastic - hilarious in places, and just much better than I'd first thought.
So, am I completely insane or is there a plausible explanation for this? No actually, don't answer that, I know the answer all ready. *pulls spotted y-fronts back over head* And, what did you all think of it? One of Smith'e best, or just 'average'?
One more question: Is Battle Royale worth purchasing?
> I havent seen Jay and Silent Bob strike back

Trust me, it rules
1. Clerks - First time I watched it, it seemed quite poor, but I think it was just the fact that it was in black and white that made me put it down. But by the time it had finished and I had got into it, I realised how great it is.
2. Dogma - More Jay and Silent Bob, plus the first Ksmith appearence for Chris Rock, brilliant!
3. Mallrats - Like Clerks, simple yet fantastic. Jason Lee really shines in this one.
4. Chasing Amy - Meh, it has its moments, but theres just something about it that makes it not so good. Maybe it because Jay and Silent Bob are hardly in it. One thing I like is the things written in the background, on doors and walls etc. Again Jason Lee was great, once again with an obssesion for comic books and some great lines.
I havent seen Jay and Silent Bob strike back, I have a feeling it will be near the top of my list if I had though. I have it, in my house but im not alowd to open it until May 18th - My birthday.

Battle Royale is good, but perhaps not as great as some people are making it out to be i.e--a lot of people are a bit arty farty and pretentious about its meanings. It's still worth buying though as it's got some pretty decent action in it. (But it's still not as good as Predator)
