Hi,

ive got bit of a dilemma which I need help with..

My Laptop comes up with a error message now and again

"Your computer is dangerously low on resources"

it then tells me to close down Explorer, word, basically any application or connection which I have open..

it then crashes and I have to reboot.

I know its not my HD because I have 5.33 GB free

so does anyone know what I can do to sort this problem out?

Thanks.

ok having done that has put my resources to 92% under performance but im still having the same problem, I just went into MS Word and tried to open a 42 page document, and it was slow and told me the system was dangerously low on resources!

ctrl+alt+del shows only 3 things - sys tray, explorer and one other

go to start >> run>> and type "msconfig" and under the startup tab untick the things that you don't want/need , that will save you quite a lot of resources.

Would be useful to know what version of windows you are using. It can mean quite different things depending on the version.

You may be experiencing "memory leaks" which cause this message when it isn't really the case that you are low on resources.
I assume you are using windows?Right click on my computer and go to properties. select the option for performance (on the tabs at the top). There is a line there for system resources, what percentage is it at????

Ways to get rid of this message are: don't use background images, don't have loads of screensavers, just use a default one. Don't have loads of programs running from start up(in the task bar at the bottom). Don't keep opening and reopening programs that you use. Also make sure your clipboard is cleared as if there is a lot of data on it it could cause it a bit.
