B) Even if it wasn't, there would be loads of lag which
turns a game of skill into a game of "run around
shooting and hope for the best"
For people who don't know, lag is when what you see is what happened a few seconds ago, i.e. because of a slow internet connection, you see an enemy player, you shoot them, the shot makes contact but nothing happens because they are actually further on so you have to try and shoot where you think they will be (hardly ever works!) or shoot and hope for the best (best method available) making current online gaming skill-less for most games (turn based games work alright though!).
My friend still plays it though and revealed to me the better side to it:
CLAN WARFARE
It's actually pretty good fun. You join or build a clan and become part of a team and you make loads of new friends. The clan leader will hopefully make a website to put news on and have a message board on it for you all to leave message about all the funny/great things you've done.
Some one in a clan will have an arguement with another clan and a war between the 2 clans start. This warfare may range from leaving annoying messages on the enemy clan message board or fighting against them (in a skilless battle of "Tap fire and hope for the best!")
Naturally the greatest clan leaders are PC nerds who play so much the master how to use lag to their advantage.
Luckily the the days of lag are numbered. The super fast broadband modem will hopefully be fast enough to play games on without the lag. Not only that but the broadband modem will be on the PS2 and the Gamecube meaning console gamers will get the chance to player the likes of Perfect Dark online.
With lag eliminated, skill will be now used in internet games making the games more fun and worth while to play.
Once the games are played properly online without lag, clan warfare will be a BIG thing. And I'll be able to beat all those pesky "shoot and hope for the best players" and have proper and exiting deathmatches against the likes of you lot (with a few exceptions)...
Now THAT'S the future of gaming (until VR headsets arrive, that is!)
(I suppose you have to see the film to understand this...)
