Apparently, the price of the XBox is being dropped in the coming weeks. By 140 Euros. Bringing it to the price of about £215. Well, this could be good news in the long run, but for people like me, this is a real kick in the teeth.
So, I haven't got a clue about wheather is true or not. But, most of the people on that link seem to believe him. And, although I don't know what his status is, he said he got the mail from his suppliers.
So, If it's true: You heard it from me (a pretty annoyed Xbox owner) first.
And if it isn't true: You didn't see me, awright?
Discuss.

no the xbox is the most expensive in japan...it's already really cheap over there- about 200 quid there...
even if the ps2 was more expensive i reckon it would outsell the xbox too...
In the West it fairing better. But once the Gamecube arrives at

well in america the xbox has held its own even with the gamecube's cheap price. it will be different in europe i reckon...let's wait and see.
> but for the xbox...one month after ?!

I still don't care what anyone says - the difference between PS2 (or Gamecube) and Xbox isn't that great, and without a price drop, MS will find it hard to keep the £300 price tag. I'd say a price drop is inevitable.
I bought my PC from

Yes, I was a bit annoyed. But say I had waited a couple of

i think it is rather unfair to compare price dropping of consoles to pcs....pcs are renowned for having the price drop constantly after a month of two. however for consoles people expect the price to stay the same for around a year. so people who had a ps2 from launch didn't really mind having the big price drop that came. even the dreamcast only had it's price drop after a year or so (was it originally £200? -i could be wrong here)..but for the xbox...one month after ?! err no, i think that's slightly out of order. in some ways it is the fans of the machine who went out and bought it straight away that don't get rewarded.
When as soon as you leave a shop with any item of electrical equipment, you lose about a third to a half of its value anyway.
You also know when you buy any item of electronics that the price is going to drop at some point. Apart from consoles, it's happened with my hi-fi, TV, VCR, DVD player, and my PC.

There's not much point worrying about the cost of things in my opinion. If you want something and can afford it at that particular time, you might as well buy it, because it's a never-ending circle, and you'll always pay more than you would a few months down the line.
I sold my PS2 for £325 and the XBox package I got cost me £425. If the XBox had been cheaper, I would have got less for my PS2, and still had to put in around £100 of my own money.
I can imagine it's a blow for those people that have saved up for a while to get one at launch. But the bright side is that the cheaper it is -> the more units they sell -> the more developers release games -> the more games we have to chose from.
