Just out of idle interest, what's the political opinion of people here? If I put this in Chat, I'd get "hurhur poltics x-bx" or something.

What party did you vote, if you can, and what party will you vote? Did you not vote? Why?

I take Politics AS Level. It interests me.

My local district went from Lib Dem to Conservative last time around (must've been the only seat the tories actually gained)

I agree with Wookiee here - none of the parties really seem to have the countries best interests - or what I consider to be the countries best interests - at heart. Labour are siply manipulating the media and putting money into the sectors (or telling us they are) they'll get brownie point for, and the conservatives are now saying the same thing in a hopeless attempt to regain some credibility and support.

Why not sort out our railway lines? Because if you put the money into education, you'll get more votes for it. Result? A rail system which is mostly relaint on century old technology and is primative compared to the rest of Europe.

How many other areas can we also say that of?

Economics students in Germany are taught that the British economy is a mess - and rightly so. We are a country being propped up only by raping our natural resources (North sea Oil) and selling them off like a third world country.

The government is incompetent, and the people are passive. Things won't get better.

Exactly. That's the problem. Here's a boring statistic. 58% of the population voted at the 2001 election. That's pathetic.

Its true! They just say so much rubbish just to get elected. Its starting to get annoying just to hear them speak, to be honest.

I am not old enough to vote at this time, but when I can I don't even know if I will... if I do, I probably will vote for some obscure party with policies that I think are good, rather than some big party with a team of PR execs and spouting a load of bull manure about how they can change the country for better whilst just keeping the same old policies. Anyhow, I think the vast majority are just full of **** because they are power hungry. Its not that they think they can do the job best, they just want to be the one in charge.

Politics seems to be less and less about acual policies, and more and more about who has the press on side. Anyway, end of rant.

If you don't vote, then you are saying things are fine as they stand.

Wookiemonster

Just think, though... if everyone who thought that just voted for them anyway, they'd probably win by a landslide!

Your Honour

Thing is, if EVERYONE thinks like that, then it is a wasted vote.

I agree totally and you know who really holds the power - It's the press - The Sun says vote for *** and 90% of the lemmings that read it will.

It comes down to this rubbish sounding tactical voting nonsense where you have to think wether or not your vote will actually count for anything.

Had the media got behind the Lib Dems and not just kept going on about it being a two horse race then things might have beed different.

Politics annoy me, MP's who do poor jobs and make poor promises and get paid more than those who deserve it.

I didn't vote as nobody stood out as deserving a vote. But that is just me and I disagree with most of our laws, punishments, taxes etc.

But I rule.
So does the A-Team and a few other stuff :-)

I knew that the Lib Dems would never get in, but I voted for them anyway.

Who knows, if more people did that then maybe they would have a chance of getting in...
