EDGE, christmas issue 2001 front cover states "F**K why EDGE swears by microsofts new console"
EDGE, Chrstmas issue 2002 fornt cover states "F**CKED - why EDGE swears microsofts console is becoming the new Dreamcast.
oh how i laughed, one year on its becoming obsolete, does this worry u x box fans?,,,, it should
Also the Dreamcast was by FAR better than the PS2.

Well it did better graphics at the time with games such as Soul Caliber and right through from beginning to end, it had excellent titles coming through such as Phantasy Star Online, Daytona USA, Soul Caliber, Sonic, etc. And this was with very little support.
Sega also tried some nice ideas with the console too. They made the virtual memory unit which allowed you to play little mini games on them as well as saves (although they ate up a lot of space). Then of course they tried online gaming, unfortunatly, it wasn't done well enough to succeed and was left with little support in the end too.
PS2 on the other hand didn't really have any decent games for the first 6 months and basically sold thanks to the reputation of its predeccesor. A lot of people that were part of the flock shall we say just ignored the DC because they wanted to be with the in crowd in owning a PS2 - despite the console having sod all worth having for awhile.
That wouldn't matter so much but the console itself was basically an updated PS1 with a DVD player. So it didn't really have a lot of potential to look forward to.

Ok, i agree with that, apart from the PS2 not being as good as the Dreamcast, where did that come from?
Wookie is the only person on here who seems to come up with a half decent arguement against the X-Box. Most others are desperately trying to put it down with anything they can twist to make their console come out on top.
I wouldn't call myself a fanboy - I've practically owned every major console such as the PS consoles, DC, N64, GC, GBA, GB, Megadrive, Nes, Super Nes, etc. What I don't like is when a good console comes out and people desperately slate it with no real foundation. The Dreamcast was an excellent console - better than the PS2 in my opinion.
Just because people hate Microsoft doesn't make the X-Box crap. Its a great console with excellent features that aren't just a typical DVD extra, but things that can expand ideas in games.
I defend the X-Box because in my opinion, it deserves to be defended and I will continue to do so.

Good for you. I will enjoy those titles.
:D

Wow, never realised Rare made all the X-Box games.

I've seen the GC line up and its nothing that really gets me regretting that I got rid of the console. As for the PS2, a large number of decent titles coming to the console are also on the way to X-Box. MGS: Substance is apparently even going to be X-Box exclusive for awhile before it comes out on PS2. Games like Tony Hawks 4, Burnout 2, Onimusha 2, MOH: Frontline, Red Faction 2, Shinobi, etc are all coming to X-Box.

Why ? Because they add variety ? Enjoy Mario Party 27, Mario Moonflower Fluffy and Zelda 16: Zelda Gets Kidnapped - again. See I can be a sarcastic git too.
