oh how i laughed, one year on its becoming obsolete, does this worry u x box fans?,,,, it should
5.1 doesn't bother me - I don't have a 5.1 set-up, and although I do want one, I've no room for it anyway. As for the bullets... I'll say nothing and take your word for it, because I really didn't notice.
As for the locked rooms, I can neither agree nor disagree as I only played one level on my friends PS2. The only real difference I noticed was that the storyboard screens came up all at once on the PS2, while the Xbox version came up a column at a time.
I completed Max Payne 6 times on the PS2 and 5 times on the Xbox and believe me there are quite a few differences between the games. Some of the rooms in the PS2 version that were locked (i.e Some of the toilets) are infact open in the Xbox version. The graphics are crisper and sharper and the game runs at a solid 60 frames per second on the Xbox unlike 20-30 on the PS2. Plus the added factor of 5.1 is actually very impressive, bullets fly past my head as I sit on my sofa and the sounds from Mr. Payne himself are a lot louder and clearer coming through in digital from the central speaker. When in bullet-time on the PS2 you couldn't see the bullets going through the air, time slowed down but the bullet-time visuals were poor. On the Xbox however you can see the bullets going through the air and making marks on the surrounding areas.
The gameplay is the same (bar the fact I like the Xbox controller more) but the graphics, sound and extra added elements make the Xbox version better. Please understand that when I say the Xbox version is better I always mean in terms of Graphics and Audio, obviously the audio is going to be better because of the 5.1 :)
Sorry for ranting on a bit but thats what I mean when I say the Xbox versions of the majority of Multi-Platform games are better :)

No doubt you'll think I'm having a go at you again, but I don't understand this.
You talk about the depth of the games, but that doesn't change from console to console. Each machine has some titles which are more in-depth than others, but the Xbox doesn't have any more or less than the PS2 or Gamecube.
Halo has no more depth to it than any other FPS; PGR isn't as in-depth as GT3, but it does have a lot more padding; RalliSport Challenge is no different to WRC; and DoA3 is identical in gameplay to DoA2.
Max Payne - I played my mates PS2 version before buying the Xbox version pre-owned from Game, and apart from a little more graphical sharpness, found it to be identical. Apart from that, it's far too short - I completed it in two nights. And there's no replay value at all. Not much depth their, on any platform!
Virtua Tennis + Virtua Tennis 2 are the GREATEST sports games ever to be released on a console (although the second is coming to PS2).
Ultimate Fighting Championship and Soul Calibur are better than any PS2 alternatives.
Shenmue's 1 + 2 in my opinion are the best games ever to leave the SEGA development unit and my favourite games of all time! People waited for the PS2 (like me) and when they got them a lot were happy with them because it has the biggest selection of games over any of the other next generation consoles. GT3 and GTA3 kept people going and then along came Pro Evolution and MGS2 which have kept people interested in the console up to the release of Vice City.
That is how I saw the PS2 and after 9 months of owning one I was very disappointed and although there were other games out there I got sick of getting games which had potential but didn't deilver the in-depth gameplay that I so longer for. I traded it in for an Xbox and instead of waiting 9 months to play 4 great games I waited just 4 weeks! I then had Halo, Project Gotham Racing, RalliSport Challenge, Dead or Alive 3 and a much better version of Max Payne over the inferior and slow version I had for the PS2.
I can understand the PS2's success and I don't want to put the console down, I just found too many poor games appearing and too long a wait in-between great titles. The PS2 is the 'COOL' (sorry for the American word :) console to own and a lot of people who weren't into consoles became interested in GTA3 and MGS2 which were/are two fantastic titles. I hope it continues doing well and maybe in the near future wjen I get a job and when it comes down in price again then I will pick one up to play GTA Vice City and Pro Evolution 2, but for now I am very happy with my Xbox :)
Oh and don't anyone say Final Fantasy is better than Skies of Arcadia because I will have to release the Hounds :)
> Oh and why Daytona and not MSR?
Good point ! For some reason I forgot that while typing out the titles. Shame on me. :-)
