Typical flash OTT WWE presentation. Started a game, and boy, is it ever disappointing!
It's SUCH a step backwards from No Mercy. Graphically it looks disappointing for a Gamecube title. Better than No Mercy, but only just, which is pathetic really.
Variety of moves is minimal, only a couple for each grapple position, again, poorer than No Mercy's selection.
Worse still, in the instructions it tells you how to reverse moves. Part of the appeal of No Mercy was getting out of something, then wondering how the hell you did it. Here you just hammer the L or R button, hoping they'll let you go.
That's another thing, when you're being pinned, you don't as such kick out, but the other guy seems to get off you.
The only fun part was the create a wrestler, as you can alter the size of body parts. So I create a female wrestler with a deformed head (featuring a mammoth jaw) huge breasts, fat bum, tiny hands, and big clown feet.
She then beat up Scotty Too Hootty'.
Turok Evolution was equally disappointing.
Understand though that a fan of FPS I am not.
I found that there was too much clutter on the screen, plants and stuff, then you'd get jumped by a little dinosaur, which was stupid. Especially as they don't look like they're that close to you when they're doing damage. You see their dinojaws close in front of you, in fact, so they're not getting you, but you're taking damage.
Anyway, Turok, with his big axe, is often obstructed by plants.
Sorry, I don't buy that. I am Turok, a big dinosaur hunter, I can cut through a sodding plant. But no, I have to walk around it, on the path. Only I got stuck in a corner, and the plants look crap when they're up really close.
The control also seemed wrong, for some reason.
Glad I rented them, I may have bought them in the future.
Still, I'll play a bit more tonight, might get some enjoyment out of them.
Could you go on about it a bit more please...
Have some matches with the weapons and stuff, stack tables in the corner and throw people into them. Drop them off a ladder and straight through a table. Powerbomb someone onto a chair on the floor. Smash someone over the head with a trash-can several times.
Then tell me what it was like.
Cheers.
i was hoping for big things from turok, not so from wwe as i hate the 1 player mode.
