What do you people think of David Spade?
That little blonde guy who plays Finch in just shoot me, but also does stand up and has been in movies like Black Sheep and the Emperors New Groove.

If you want funny movie comedians, your right to say Jim Carrey, but also I think Adam Sandler is pretty damn funny

Lee Evans is my favourite comedian, even if his TV series was poor. He's brilliant live - as i've seen him on Channel 5 a few times. Maybe I should actually pay to go sometime??

And Jim Carey's also a funny guy, but only in films. Although I bet his own stand-up show would also be good.

You know, the old proverb 'the good always die young' rings especially true when it comes to Hicks. He died just as he was about to start a new televsion series, probably quite unlike any other ever before. I'm sure more books and more cds and more shows would have followed, he was to become quite prolific it seems. When you hear of the latest atrocities taking place around the world, I wish Hicks could be here to put it in his own inimitable fashion; no-one could deliver an insult like him, and I would love to see his take on American foreign policy lately. I am a huge fan of Have I Got News for You and Private Eye, and I think Hicks tried to strike a similar satirical nerve in America, though more potently. Try theonion.com if you don't already for a spoofier version.

Seinfeld, you just made my list of "Must read their posts"

Anyone that is a Hicks fan is automatically a worthy person.

No, for me, Chris Rock is too derivative of Eddie Murphy. Though Murphy was still very influenced by Richard Pryor, he was very different and very good at telling jokes. For his talent, he deserves his place alongside the very best.

Bill Hicks is an entirely different comedian altogether. Though screamingly funny, his take was always on maintaining an aggressive relationship between himself and the audience- for example telling all the advertisers amongst his audience to go kill themselves- though it was something of an act because he loved the real fans. His show always took a political stance, though no less funny for it. He is the best comedian ever, without doubt.

If there was one comedian that you have to see, it is Hicks each and every time. Because you cannot really describe what he's like without hearing him. He is on a different planet, and to compare Thomas with him is like comparing Phil Neville with Zinedine Zidane.
