Who knows what this could mean, maybe an early price drop sooner than we thought or a drop in games prices or maybe it wont change things. I am surprised by this, It is a great console and maybe the small number of games isn't helping things yet. Not sure what effect this will have on the industy as a whole, guess we will just need to wait and see where things go from here, not something Microsoft should ignore anyway.

i read that Microsoft have spent so much advertising the xbox that even if they sold alot they would still not make any profit for 4-5 years or so
As ortega said i hope this means a big price drop in the XBOX so i can get one.
They aint expecting to make any profit till 2005 so I suppose it aint so bad. They are gonna have to lower the price though if they wanna crack this market.
I just wonder how much Microsoft are loosing out on all this. I know before they had said that with each console they sell they lose out on a fair bit of money and to make it back they need to sell about 4-5 games to each console owner before they begin to make a profit.
With the gamecube release getting closer too things could continue to go downhill until they do something to change it.

Yep, PS2, Gamecube and GBA are all outselling it.
