But to the games console market this Christmas will break or make the futures of the Nintendo Gamecube and the Microsoft Xbox!
According to the group Strtegic Analytics (or whatever they are called again) say that the PS2 has clearly won the consoles war. And yes that is TRUE! Who can match Sony's 40million+ consoles sold, not even xbox or the cube can do that as quick as Sony did. Now lets look at why Sony have been so sucessful. After the success of the PS1, many users were rearing to go and buy the PS2.
The PS2 embarrased the Dreamcast, but why did this happen, well Sony threw in a DVD player, which was a good thing. But the Dreamcast had a lot of potential in it, but just did not work out. Another thing JAPAN has had a BIGGGGG influence on the PS2. The home of Sony, many Japanese people have bought the PS2, if this continues, every single household will have the PS2. Which just isn't right. Having 71% of the market share, which company can withhold Sony. Well thats down to either Microsoft or Nintendo.
The battle is on for 2nd PLACE. Yes thats right. Its Cube vs Box. Both systems have potential. My fave is the Cube, others will like the PS2 or the Xbox. But Nintendo have got the lead over Microsoft, as the cube has sold over 10 millions whereas the Xbox has only sold over 8 million boxes.
So this will be the biggest battle for 2nd place, for 2nd place in the market share. its nothing compared to 2nd place in the Formula 1 Driving campionship. Believe both consoles have great games, both will be realising online capabilities. But this Christmas will decide who's the better out of the cube and the box. Right now Nintendo have second place, but will this continue (I think it will). (Nintendo gonna have a massive cube party, this will help them sell a few more cubes, Xbox really aint got a proper marketing strategy yet, the PS2 will be doing quite a few things as well this xmas to make their console sell).
What do you all think? Which will come out to be on 2nd place? Can Sony ever stop selling the PS2? Well thats for us consumers to decide.

Fraid not actually - its been confirmed on X-Box too - although after the PC release.
And unless your going to stop your childish insults I suggest you just go back to the X-box forum and be a fanboy there.

Doom 3 has only been confirmed for PC I'm afraid.

And these games being on X-Box doesn't make them crap either does it.

Well good for you (and Wookie for that matter). On the other hand other people would like to play these games.
Personally, I haven't got too much interest in playing 3/4 of the cuddly pap Nintendo throws out whereas you would gag for it.
Its all about different peoples different tastes.
As for the comments on a few of the games. By the time Halo comes to PC, X-Box owners will be enjoying Halo 2. Knights Of The Old Republic is not coming to PC now and is definatly an X-Box exclusive.
Doom 3 is also coming to X-Box so thats a monster that doesn't have to be missed.
As for Deus Ex 2 - not everyone has or can afford a monster PC to play games like this. No doubt you'll need a pretty decent set up to play. Whereas with the X-Box, you can pick it up and play without fear of hoping you have all the right upgrades for it to work.
As far as consoles go, you won't see it anywhere but on X-Box.
Plus apparently, MGS: Substance will be exclusive to X-Box in the same way Splinter Cell is (i.e - only available on X-Box for awhile before other consoles get versions of them).
Of course thats nothing extremely major, but for those looking to buy a console during this period, games like MGS: Substance and Splinter Cell only being on the X-Box shelves could certainly help the console.

Or if you've got the Q, theres no need for a DVD playa! Yeh we know we still can watch videos! Even better why not wait until they come on TV! quality will be much better!

Yeah I know that Sega and Nintendo are home to Japan as well! When I mean SONY I mean the whole company, all their electrical items, thats why they are such a sucessful company. In VideoGame Terms I think the best company in Japan has to be Nintendo, they are a well established company producing class games and consoles, plus they were the first company who made the first successful console which many of us use to play back in those days. Everyone has to of played the classic NES, or SNES?

Video tape is dead in the water. I only use my VHS to play old tapes and to record stuff. If Sky were not so sticky about a certain extra £10 sub charge, I would use Sky+ to record.

Just noticed this...
Sorry, but isn't Japan also the home of Sega and Nintendo? I don't see why that would be an advantage to Sony over the other two...

Indeed. "Oops!" is all I can say to that!
But then we shouldn't be surprised - TV tie-ins rarely turn out any good!
