I plan to get a 200 pound Hi-Fi system (in the Argos catalogue), and it claims to have pro-logic surround sound.
Part of the reason I want this is to get surround sound from my consoles.
I know that few of you have a Gamecube, but most of you seem to know what its Pro Logic 2 sound system is all about...
Would I plug the Gamecube into my Hi-fi, or just into the speakers, or are they incompatable full stop?
Also, I might well be getting an Xbox within the next 6 months.
As so many of you have said so many times, 5.1 is VERY different to Pro logic 1/2 (pro being analogue and 5.1 being digital).
But, if the 5.1 set up is INSIDE the Xbox, then I should just be able to wire it to the speakers, right?
Help if you can. :-)
The Xbox isn't bad at media, but not my first choice either.
I don't think I'll have a problem with the Gamecube (it'll be pretty much the same as setting up that little sound station I have), and I'll probably get a make-do effect for the Xbox.
At the end of the day, I've only got so much money, and top quality surround sound isn't no. 1 priority. :-)
Thanks for all your help though.
