Ignore the business about the fine, and look at this part:

"The EU is expected to take up the matter this week, slapping the world's number-two video game maker with a fine."

So, in terms of "video game maker", who is number one?

I honestly would have thought that Nintendo were the number one. It can't be Sony or Microsoft - is it Sega?

Its Capcom or Konami, for video games as a sole its one of them, remember that Nintendo don't make the most games and thats what that statement will be based on. Its not saying 'best' or anything, and it doesn't take into account hardware or anything.

Which makes sense. :)

It can't be Sega after their shocking Dreamcast period. Fair enough they do have a good record with the mega drive, saturn and son on, but talking in modern terms, they didn't really do much with the DreamCast.

I would say Sony is the world's number oner video game maker.
