So, for the third time this year I'm wondering whether to buy an Xbox. First I was going to get one at launch - I sold my PS2 and all the games....but then changed my mind 5 days from launch and bought a new PS2. Then, in May, I nearly had one then, but bought a Gamecube instead which I really like. Now, it's October, I've just traded in the sixth new release in a row that I bought for PS2 (Hitman 2, previously Tekken 4, Deus Ex, Final Fantasy X, and a pile of others. I'm bored of being told how great Vice City is, The Getaway will be rubbish, and Tomb Raider has been put back til next year.

What's the game that's tempted me ? Splinter Cell, looks brilliant and totally excellent. Plus, though I haven't got Broadband yet, I'm seriously impressed by MS's Xbox Live - unlike Sony's plan its clear, has major games support, and there's a definite price for it which seems quite reasonable. On top of that I still want Halo, DOA3, PGR, Buffy, Jetset Radio, Ralisport, Sega GT2002, and a fair few others.

I've belittled Microsoft's console before, but I think this Christmas their are quite a few games there to impress people.

Er...and thats it really. Pretty pointless topic eh ? Just sitting around geting ready to snipe someone on Ebay he he :)

The graphics were, admittedly, not mind blowing but the gameplay was and still is the best I've ever experienced. Please, trust me and get it cheap on PC. You must give it another go - it's easily the best FPS ever created!

I've been dealing on Ebay 4 years now, never had any problems when buying. Selling's main problems is caused by buyers not paying and giving you the runaround, but now I have strict payment within 7 business days or item is relisted policy. It works too :)

Been ringing round a few places today to see whose actually got Xbox consoles in, Comet had none, Dixons are getting them tomorrow, Toysrus had ran out, Game have them but no great deals I like. Haven't tried SR yet because I know what their bundle is.

My ideal pack would be something with Halo, buffy and the DVD playback thing...

Hitman 2 I didn't like when I played the demo, so I won't be bothering with that. Deus Ex I never bothered with as I completed the PC version about 2 years ago. VF4 never interested me. Madden 2002 I have, but will be selling - I only play it when my mate comes round, and he's just bought Madden 2003. Ico I did enjoy, though - was very 'different' to what I'd normally go for.

I am looking forward to Splinter Cell, though I may have to wait for Xmas rather than buy it myself.

And I too have some old PS2 games that I really must get round to listin on eBay - including AC4... surprised you got £20 for that!

Nah, I sold the decent ones on Buy It Now;

Metal Gear Solid 2 £15
Conflict Desert Storm £20
Silent Hill 2 £15
SSX Tricky £15
Ace Combat 4 £20
Maximo £20
Max Payne £13
Medal Of Honour Frontline £20

Thats the trouble with me and PS2 games though, a lot of the decent ones - according to reviews - I hated - Hitman 2, Deus Ex, Vritua fighter 4, MAdden 2002, Ico, - found them all pretty underwhelming really. I'm not saying they're bad games, just that I didn't like them. #I like stuff like Ghost Recon and SPlinter Cell, and my PC is getting on a bit and I can't be bothered to upgrade, so Xbox is a cheap way to play games like that for me.
