EU Fines Nintendo

According to Reuters, the EU are fining Nintendo and their European distributors next week for breaking antitrust regulations with it's sales practices in the mid-90's. They were accused in 2000 of limiting cross-border flow of their products to raise wholesale prices as retailers could only order from the distributors for their country and couldn't import cheaper goods.

Unsurprisingly this is bad for Nintendo's stock prices. This coupled with them reducing their GameCube sales forecasts has made their stock prices drop 19% in the last month.

Played a bit of Deus Ex on my mates pc once it "borrowed" heavily on the System shock 2 design. Now that was a scary game.

Oh I agree that Silent Hill 2 doesn't show innovation but not many games today do. Devil May Cry got very repetitive but I did stick with it but it was no-where as good as I hope for. But Deus Ex is in a league of its own and is in my top 5 favourite games of all time! Can't wait for the second on Xbox :)

It's rather repetitive, isn't it? Well after the first ten levels (which are basically just fast paced killing) it does start to vary. All I was saying was that Silent Hill could never be 'great', because it's not original enough. Devil May Cry, Eternal Darkness, Deus Ex (had to throw that in :D) were all different, and therefore had the potential to be 'great'. Most people agree Eternal Darkness and Deus Ex are 'great' games, but Devil May Cry has mixed opinions. Best wait for Devil May Cry 2.

It is true though isn't it? That is why I stopped arguing with people because I found it to be pointless treading over old ground when everyone has different opinions :) I just enjoy playing games now and occassionaly taling about them on here :)

I really thought Devil May Cry was a load of rubbish! Last chrsitmas I ordered that one game thinking that it would keep me occupied for quite a long time but after going through a few conflicts I was bored and wanting something extra. Silent Hill 2 is a 'great' game that is equally as good as Resident Evil in my opinion and also better in places, but as someone said earlier its down to opinion and if I had a GameCube then I would be saying the other way round.

Again, how on earth have you managed to class Resi as a FPS, when it fails on the main (and only!) criteria!?

Is it in first person?

No.

umm..
