Thats what I like to see.
A JAT that does my work for me :)
fair enough, i suppose it is each person perogative in the end.
i still class it as an adventure due to running about etc.
but, no more arguing, we are all right in our own special ways!
although i may be more "special" than you.
lol, as in special in a retarded way!
lol
The thing is, there isn't really an Adventure genre. Theres Platform/Adventure games like Banjo, and RPG/Adventure games like Zelda.
Back in the 2D days it was easy to define, but ever since things have been done in 3D it seems like more of an adventure, because you don't just run in one direction and jump, you can run in any direction and jump.
Still a platformer though.
The only difference is the perspective.
it is not as such a platformer
i have always classed platformers as side scrolling games with lots of jumps and tings.
not a 3D environment where you get to explore large areas.
Mario 64 and banjo kazooie are both of the above, huge levels and 3D approach
Platform games involve lots of presicion jumping and stuff. How many jumps did you make in Zelda?
I'm sorry, but if Banjo-Kazzooie isn't a platform game then what the hell is?
Mario is a platformer, a platformer are games that emphasies on jumping.
Zelda doesn't, Zelda is an adventure game, a true one.
same view point on the game and also the same ideas for gameplay
